I recently finished watching My Liberation Notes! It was a very interesting drama, very different from anything I have seen recently. I loved the cast and I anticipated it a lot during the week, which is always fun. It made me think about what I would want to be liberated from and how little bursts of happiness can be added up during the day to make you realize you truly are happy.

My Liberation Notes was not what I expected it to be. The cast was what drew me in! I had to at least see the first few episodes for them. Once I saw that it was a slice of life and family related, I knew I had to stay and finish it, since those are the types of dramas I like to watch. I’ll admit that I was expecting a happy ending. To be honest, I was really confused for the last four episodes. I didn’t get the artistic value to making me guess what timeline we were in. I was used to weird scenes here and there, but I was just lost and kind of took what people said online to make sense of it. From the beginning, Gu’s alcoholism made me uncomfortable, that and the use of “worshiping”, but I thought that it would make sense towards the end. It did… but it also didn’t for me. Again, I read what people had to say about it and was like, “okay, I guess..”. I get that the ending is more true to life. Our three siblings, and Gu, are still in a journey filled with ups and downs trying to find themselves and making their lives better for themselves, but I guess I wanted a My Ajusshi type of ending where it felt nice to leave that world knowing everything was going to be okay. Everyone in My Liberation Notes will probably be okay! The drama did show us that they were smiling and fairly comfortable in their current state. Maybe because some things hit too close to home is why I wanted a very bold happy ending! Anyways, Lee Min-ki was great, haha! I think he is the one I liked the most. I constantly complain a lot to my family that I have coworkers that talk too much, but honestly, if given the chance, I can out talk them, lol. And what magnetism does Sohn Seok-gu possess?! I dislike drinking scenes in general in kdramas and drunks are not my favorite, but he was so attractive. I need him in another drama soon! Preferably a rom-com because we are guaranteed a happy ending, right?!!
