To My Star 2. Just give Hwang Da suel every show from here on out. She delivered all the way to the end. What a fantastic finale and here is hoping for Season 3.

I thought the last couple episodes were excellent. Jiwoo was finally honest with himself and Seo joon. I had to go back and watch the first season and he kept lying to himself and Seo joon even then. One thing though, and you can comment or not, but in the first season, I assumed that Ji woo had always been gay—it certainly looked that way to me and really does when I watched just now the second time around. There’s a line in the first season that he says to Seo Joon that makes me certain of this—he is telling Seo Joon to leave because he thinks Seo Joon was just bored and toying with him because he’s the only person around him. He says, basically, that he was sincere and Seo joon was not. Then he cries after Seo joon leaves and comes back after like 30 seconds-lol- he really is heartbroken. You can’t react like that if you’ve not already made it clear to yourself that you’re gay. And if this was his first foray into that, without realizing it prior, I don’t know if you could develop those feelings so fast. (I’m not homosexual, so maybe I have no idea what I’m talking about here.) So I was SHOCKED when he had an ex-girlfriend that he dated for 5 years and that was his only prior relationship. Shocked. That’s why I really didn’t like most of that story arc, I couldn’t believe it. Other than that, I’m glad the second season was just strong as the first. I like her shows. I just watched Blueming this week as well and Where Your eyes linger was my first kdrama BL. I’ll watch anything she directs.

Ji woo said he was in a relationship in the 1st season. He never specified gender. I thought that maybe the guy he was involved with was closeted, and like you was shocked it was a woman. It makes me wonder what would have happened if his parents had survived that accident though. Just how much more of a mess would he be with his parents around.

Da Seul needs to get her hands on a 16 eps network show. She will be amazing. There ain’t nearly enough female directors in Korea. Just like in America and that is sad as hell.

I didn’t find it weird, I just thought “he’s most be bisexual or something”.

Have you watched Semantic Error? It’s really nice. I also recommend the BL My Love Mix Up, but it’s a jdrama.

I’ve seen both of these. I’ve actually seen a lot (four just during my covid isolation-lol). My love mix up is adorable! It’s a manga that my daughter’s friend read and we talked about it when I watched it. I just watched Old Fashioned Cupcake (also jdrama), and rewatched it today as well. It’s very dialogue heavy which I liked a lot. It felt like an indie film the way the cinematography and music direction went. I liked that as well. It actually reminded me of a French film if you know what I mean. But it’s excellent and Kimura Tatsunari stands out in this.

I got a manga to recommend. It is called My Dining Table. You just walk away feeling the absolute best after reading it. And it is one that you can read with you kid.
It is about a dude who runs into another dude and his much younger brother and they become friends and eat meals together. Yes, it is a BL and just absolutely heartwarming. It is chase compared to most, but the relationship is in the open. I think you will enjoy it.

Old FC, it’s on my watchlist. I hope I can watch it this week or next.
I watched Mr Unlucky Has No Choice But To Kiss a few weeks ago, it was funny and sweet. I want to watch more BLs from Japan, but Viki has like only 5…

I thought My Love Mix Up was absolutely adorable. What I liked about it was, they were teenagers. They were kids trying to figure things out. You don’t expect a teenager to be hella mature and know what they want. And I love the fact that there was no interlooper or romantic rival for them to deal with while there are trying to work out who they are and what they want their relationships.
