I just watched Twenty, the 2015 movie with Kim Woo-bin, Kang Ha-neul, and Junho as (improbably manly-looking) 20-year-olds trying to figure out what to do with their lives and how to get laid, not necessarily in that order. It’s also got Jung So-min and several other familiar faces. A lot of it is hysterically funny, although it doesn’t exactly break new ground and there’s a touch too much “ain’t life grand” sunny optimism for my cynical old self. Woob’s character is annoying as hell in a way that makes it particularly satisfying whenever someone smacks him upside the head. There’s plenty of crude/sexual humor but it’s pretty mild (at least for me as a survivor of three younger brothers and a teenage son). But oh my god THE FIGHT SCENE IS F*CKING GLORIOUS. I laughed so hard I thought I was going to throw up. Worth watching just for that.
It is a funny movie to watch, and it’s worth it just to laugh yourself out in the restaurant fighting scene.
There are rumours about a “Thirty” movie. PD and main cast said they would be in if the rest are in. Those rumours started during Baeksang awards ceremony and all WooBin, Junho and Haneul said they would love to be in a project like that.
And what can I say? I’m all in too.
