Alchemy of Souls finale:

    … has given me:
🗡 18 hours of tremendous fun
    🗡 1 hour of annoyance
🗡 1 hour of irritation that didn’t quite reach 🍿-throwing levels
🗡 1/2 hour of gleefully screaming “I told you so!” at the screen as the Red Wedding, return of Naksu, running wild, and apotheosis of Wook unfolded

I wish those hours had not come in that exact order, but I am 100% fine with where the story left us. I’ll almost certainly forget the aggravation by December unless I make the mistake of rewatching ep. 19 and the first part of 20. All in all, I’m glad I watched and looking forward to Season 2 (although not the absence of Jung So-min, who was fantastic to the end).

Right? The good thing about having low expectations for a Hong Sisters’ finalé is it doesn’t really take much to make you feel content with the ending – despite all the flaws. This ending still was nowhere near the rage I felt for Jae Wook’s last drama. 😆

The Drama That Shall Not Be Named is such a legend for how bad the ending was that I’m not remotely tempted to watch and my blood pressure is the better for it. I do hope that Alchemy has established LJW as a major star and washed away any guilt-by-association left from his first turn as ML.
