While in Investopedia (https://www.investopedia.com/terms/w/whartonite.asp), it was a colloquial term referred to Wharton School of Univ. of Pennsylvania graduates. It associated with industrial professionals like investment banking, investment management, private equity and venture capital.

This is something I never seem to understand in this trope. There is this lead who came from a humble background and they somehow have the same position as the kids of CEO’s and people who got education in top universities. If the lead possessed some special skills that nearly no one else did, I will understand…but it is never mentioned?
