Things are just….bad.
I’ve made it to MN. I’ve started the new job. I’ve been living on my brothers couch for 3 weeks and it’s been worse than anticipated. I am treated to near nightly lectures on how amazing he is.
Whatever.
I found an apartment! And was told that I could move in today–the one day that people can help me move except
1. For some reason my first paycheck was 70 dollars. My manager said she’ll figure it out on Monday but…
2. I was supposed to move TODAY and without the paycheck I can’t pay the deposit.
3. I lose the apartment and get to restart the apartment hunt.
4. Back to my brothers couch. Where it’s very, very clear I’m not wanted.
5. I can’t stop crying. makes for a great working day. I don’t feel like working.this paycheck was less than a dollar an hour and while it will get fixed eventually it’s basically ruining a whole bunch of other stuff. Annnnnnd my intrusive thoughts are BAD right now.

Ouch, that’s so much to deal with! You’ve been very brave to take on the move and the new job and it must be so frustrating to have to cope with these setbacks on top of the big life changes. Is there anything that usually helps to deal with the intrusive thoughts? For me it’s doing one-off/short-term volunteer work that requires concentration (delivering groceries for the food bank) but if focusing totally on self-care works for you, do it!

It WILL get better! Virtual hugs if you’re comfortable with them. Virtual kick in the pants to your brother. 😡

You really can’t catch a break! I hope the pay thing is sorted quickly because that’s just one more hurdle that you don’t need right now.

Isa!!! We love you and know this is just a bump in the road. I hope the apartment manager will be lenient if you you explain the situation. Housing is hard right now. My kdrama-watching secretary just got an eviction notice as well. Her apartment is more than what she can afford right now with 2 kids as a single working parent not getting child support. A couple of us gave her her holiday bonus early, to help her make ends meet. I hope you can make the best of this. Honestly, where’s that book deal? I hope you do write some day. You have enough experiences to fill an anthology! Fighting!
