Beanies, I just finished watching the 2019 Taiwanese drama Someday or One Day and it is excellent. So, SO good. If you haven’t watched it yet, RUN – don’t walk!
I feel bereft now that it’s over, and so few shows consume me and truly take up residence in my consciousness in this way. I’d say that romance is secondary to the overall world and the people who inhabit it because the complexities of relationships aren’t explored beyond what lengths people would go to for love, and to be loved. It’s really a set piece used to challenge our characters. I also don’t believe in fated love, but if you do, you’ll love this show even more. The consequences of time travel are addressed head on, and it is handled intelligently.
Oh, and don’t read spoilers! This was advice from @thefangirlverdict that’s well worth following, even if you’re like me and prefer to know what happens in advance. And once you’re done, you can read @leetennant’s excellent blog post about it!
Yes, let spread Someday or One Day love! You are absolutely right, it is a tightly-written, well-acted and overall excellent, perfect drama. Just some days (hee) ago I was asking for Taiwanese drama recomms that could compare to this, but I’m kinda afraid that nothing will. Also 100% agree with this – if you’ve haven’t seen it yet, DO IT!
I don’t know if many dramas out there could compare – it’s just so good! I’m interested to see how the kdrama remake will turn out…and a bit nervous about it, too!

If anyone misses Greg (eventually you will) you can watch a TW show called ‘Love Storm’. It used to be on Netflix US. it’s an ensemble cast and GregO is just one part. But he is a hoot!!
It also has Chris Wu 🙂
Once you experience GregO your life will never be the same again. Ha ha ha.
Greg is truly special! He did an incredible job playing the different facets/stages of Li Zi Wei, and when he was (the real) WQS, it was so clear he was a completely different person!! I’m a fan now!
Where did you have your discussions during your live-watch?
We were on WWW thread and on fan walls.. also probably on chat.. not sure if it was rabbit or discord (let me know if you want the link).. feels like so long ago.
We watched Love Storm because waiting for the next ep of SD1D was too painful.. lol
I could not find Someday or One Day streaming anywhere (in the USA), so I just ordered the blueray from Ebay. I just received it and there were NO english subtitles. Aaargh, my reading skills obviously suck as that was clearly stated in the description. So I ordered the DVD this time again from Ebay.
Anyways, thanks for the recommendation.
