Did anyone notice this ‘Havad Law School’ Degree in the last ep of ‘Curtain Call’? Was it a joke spelling given how ‘r’s are pronounced in the Boston accent or just a funny stuff up?

I think it’s just a funny stuff made up to use and the name and not use the name at the same time (we have seen Kdramas doing this since forever). I don’t think a lot of Koreans know how r is pronounced in different places in the States, ifaik.

    My brain autocorrected it xD

I’ve definitely seen “modified” framed degrees like that, many, and am very sorry I can’t remember the shows. Classic to remove or add one letter and obfuscate with the smaller-print verbiage. Can’t be sued if they technically change the name!

Business Proposal had another deliberate misspelling of Harvard. The only time I’ve noticed a university name (MIT, maybe?) spelled correctly on one of those framed diplomas was in You From Another Star – but the rest of the text was nonsense.

Oh, great example! He had been to every important school, Of course! I wonder if they play around with and slightly “modify” diplomas/certificates from Korean schools?

I am so impressed by the level of detail that you all notice! I am too easily distracted by the obvious things and never see the fun details!🤔

😂 I am so distracted by any printed words onscreen that I often completely overlook the subtitles and have to rewind to read them. There were scenes in Glitch I watched 4 or 5 times trying to read t-shirt slogans or posters in the background before realizing I hadn’t taken in a word of the dialogue. Sadly, it happens to me in real life all the time, too, and I’m constantly asking people to repeat themselves because my brain was busy reading a presentation slide or an ad on a bus going by or literally anything. Print > speech for me.

@elinor yes! The tshirts, the signs! I’m like a dog who sees a squirrel! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Maybe it was just a happy coincidence dropping the ‘r’ in Harvard. ‘Pahk the cah in Hahvad yahd’ sort of thing lol.

Now I can reveal to Manager Jung that Noh Sang-hyun and I share something in common. Both of us spent our childhood in Boston, MA USA. I grew up there many, many, many ‘Moons’ before NSH. (I really am hoping for a redemption arc for the real Moon-sung’.)
