CGI water shooting out of a hose that is plainly not full (notice how flat it is) to douse CGI flames while standing on the roof of a burning buiding in an attempt to generate excitement. You get one guess how well that succeeds.

    This feels like it out-Jirisans Jirisan.

      It doesn’t. Truly. Mostly because somehow this show got episode 1 right, and still doesn’t have terribly wrong information, it’s just wrong in execution, whereas nothing about Jirisan was right in the slightest.

        Oh and also the characters are easier to give a shit about even if they’re clichéd and underwritten: Jirisan’s weren’t written at all, because Jirisan is an Anti-Show with negative, and a negative* amount of, storytelling.

        *Negative not just in the sense of not positive or good, but more, metaphorically and abstractly, in the numerical and geometric sense, of subtraction, less than zero, and generated in the opposite direction of a chosen regular direction: that is, it substracts from itself, it negates the entire concept of storytelling, and it extends away from it; it is the negation or inverse of proper storytelling.

        Jirisan is fascinatingly horrible in that sense.
