The Interest of Love E16. Here is YYS realizing he has finished all the hockey scenes, and must continue to act in the rest of this train wreck. What a dismal, unfinished finale.

Well it was pretty much obvious it’s gonna be an open ending. At least they finished it without more toxicity, so happy with that.

I actually felt the healing and growth where both were willing to talk about their regrets and what-ifs. Two people who didn’t take that one step. And that one step would have changed everything. But, we ended exactly the same way. Two people who had a shot at their happiness but chose to not do anything about it. Neither of them took that one step 🙂 I would have liked the ending with one or both of them taking that step.
Part 2 – 15 years later it would still be the same 😅

I understand your point of view. I really do. But life teaches us that it’s easy to talk about past regrets, and even easier to talk of “what if” scenarios. What is not easy to talk about is toxic, self-destructive behavior – and how to change from it. I heard and saw nothing in E16 to suggest Su-yeong’s periodic embrace of that behavior had ended. It is really quite sad that the writer(s) failed to address her most brutal character flaw.

At least they got to spend one night together before her 4-yr disappearance. I was uncertain they really went all the way in the Guest House room, but it became clear at their reunion when Su-yeong said “everything had been given, everything had been received” (my paraphrase) while showing that flashback.

If they ever did make a Part 2, I hope Sang-su is happily married to someone else!

Yeah, Soo Young’s lack of character development irks me. She may have become a successful cafe owner & all, but she kind of can’t embrace happiness. Every character has shown very healthy growth while hers seemed callous as ever. I have a hard time understanding what Sang soo finds in her rather boring personality.

LOL they’d still be do much in love but neither of them would get past the communication difficulty.

Also I think it’s Soo Yong’s turn to take one step ahead, cuz it has always been Sang Soo who was trying to make things work for them.
