I’ll start Day 1 of his special week with “The Reason Minhyuk Is Amazing” video (which will make you cry. or anyway, I cried watching it :”) ).
It’s a (incomplete) history of Minhyuk’s athletic prowess:
– He won 19 medals (maybe more by the last update) at Idols Atletic Championships, including for sprinting, football, hurdles, high jump and more, and is one of the top most decorated idol and a legend at ISAC.
– He is also a famous Dream Team participant, having won several time, and famously set the record for High Vault Jump of all time.
– He is super flexible and is famous for his Yoo Ji Tae’s Old Boy scorpion pose, and could do limbo up to 60 cm.
– He is famous for doing all sorts of acrobatics and tumbles.
– He has gottena a knee injury after debut, but because of people’s expectations, and because he wanted to help promote the back-then very unknown BTOB, he kept doing tumbles, and kept entering in athletic competitions (and won them) even after getting surgery, even though he was worse than before.
I totally cried watching where Sungjae went serious and told Minhyuk not to get hurt, since Sungjae always jokes around.
Oh my god. I cried. Never watched this one before… He’s so talented!!! A rapper who can sing. Breaking so many records. But still willing to sacrifice himself for the team. Just like how Sungjae says because he carries the weight of BTOB’s name around, Minhyuk is also the same. No wonder he’s the mom, and Eunkwang the dad, always trying their hardest on shows to promote BTOB’s name around.
Every member cares about the team. But can’t deny I worry about Minhyuk. Only fans know his knees are injured, but when he’s on TV, he acts as if nothing has changed and still continues smiling. Frankly, I’m relieved he composes songs for the team now, because it keeps him busy so he doesn’t need to go on those physical shows anymore.
