Also, am I a Joy bias if I say I still like her despite being obviously green? She’s not cringe-worthy, that’s for sure. But I’m liking how her character is written, so far. Independent, intelligent

She carries her character quite naturally, both visually and verbally. I actually feel the actor playing Kyungjoo (her friend) is more visibly awkward.

As long as the characters are strongly written, like in The Liar and His Lover or Solomon’s Perjury, green acting usually isn’t a big problem. I just hope Taehee doesn’t swing fully towards the “cute girl in love for the first time” character type because that’d be a waste of the nuances of her character.

Hear, hear! I loved her in TLAHL and indeed, it was mostly due to how her character was written. I don’t get the hate she has been receiving (outside DB) both then and now. 😱

Gosh, I totally remember the complete mess that was the TLAHL casting post comment section 😧 Somehow it’s a girl idol thing. I don’t ever see guy idol actors draw this much hate.

I know SM pulls strings regularly, but Joy is honestly a good match for the roles she has been cast in, and puts in effort to a commendable outcome.

Considering how little experience she has compared to her costars, I actually think sheโ€™s doing a fine job. This is only her second drama.

I don’t think that means you are bias, I find no problem in the 1st 4 ep either,

the one that I have the problem for some reason is the adult, si hyeon dad and soo ji mum is super awkward [not as the character] but as acting.

Joy holds her character well and the character also written well, ofc she isn’t as striking shocking as soo ji but that doesn’t mean tae hee is a bad character.
