A few days ago I watched the Japanese film, Sweet Bean. The basic plot is simple, but this was such a beautiful-made and touching film. The story follows two individuals who have been isolated from society (for one reason or another) and shows how they are brought together through food, in this case, the red-bean-paste filling of dorayaki pastries. There is a third character, whose life is also changed. I won’t give away any more of the plot in case any Beanies are interested.
