To kick off Pride month, here’s a challenge: what was the name of the LGBTQ character in the last Kdrama you watched? 🌈🌈🌈

Lee Kyu-hyung’s character in Prison Playbook. His character was my favorite.

I clicked randomly on a webdrama pilot about two girls confessing to each other but I don’t remember the name. So for Kdramas, I think it was Haerongi in Prison Playbook and in Kmovies it was the main couple in Ordinary People.

This is a challenge indeed given that there are so few to choose from. I would have to say Chi Soo from Long Time No See. It’s not a mainstream drama but a web drama. He is a surprisingly interesting character with some depth to him. And being superficial for a sec, he is really hot.

If you want to open it up to Asian dramas, then I’d have to say hands down Hsia Yu Hao from the Taiwanese Drama HIStory2: Boundary Crossing. Both the writers and the actor Fandy Fan made me love this character. I cannot wait for the sequel.

Does Long Time No See have a happy ending? I’m tired of tragic stories about queer people.

I too am tired of tragic endings in BL dramas. Thankfully, this drama does have a happy ending.

To be precise, there hasn’t been a clearly LGBTQ character in any dramas I’ve watched since Matrimonial Chaos and Prison Playbook.

      Is Matrimonial Chaos any good?

It’s really good. The focus is on two male/female couples though. It’s one of the few dramas where I wanted to crawl into the screen and hang out.

That good!? I might check it out then. Thx.

It’s more real life believable than most. It’s not a traditional romance or traditional couple drama. I’m also a bit obsessed with the river crossing that appears in most episodes.

I forgot Matrimonial Chaos! I wanted more of her storyline.

I think one of the supporting characters in Jugglers was maybe asexual? She didn’t date and was described as “celibate” but since she wasn’t religious, that’s how I interpreted it.
