Hello friend. I am on a mission to find more Kiwi Beans so that I can visit them, being from the fair land myself. I have had the misfortune of mistaking two NON Kiwi beans for Kiwis and it was most embarrassing.
Are you a Kiwi bean dear Sadhana? Or are you just currently residing here? I need to know!
(p.s. illegal streaming is your best bet in NZ. Everywhere else “videos are not available in your country” and VPNs fail thee!! you know, being in Narnia and all)

Hello. I’m not a Kiwi bean, but I will be in Kiwi-land soon for a few months on a work assignment. That’s why the research. Ah, too bad about the streaming. At least there’s Netflix! Also, why.. do VPNs fail there? :O We use them pretty often at work (my colleagues there I mean) and they seem to work? 🤔

Oooh cool! What is your work assignment and where will you be stationed?

I mean, I don’t think ALL the VPNs fail? I just haven’t had much luck with them on Viki for certain shows. You can get Viki (I haven’t tried any of the other streaming sights) but not all dramas are available basically and I found their subs painfully slow even though we live in the future so I gave up after a while.
What VPN do you have? It’s worth a shot.

The company I work for is headquartered in Auckland, so will be there for a while. We’re helping Auckland Transport with a new project, and I’ll be involved in that.

As for VPN, we use Cisco’s AnyConnect. But yeah, Viki subs are pretty slow though they tend to be better than others. Netflix has most of Dramafever’s content now so there’s a quite a bit on there.

OoOH I see! (sorry for late reply btw) How long are you here for?
Netflix is probably your best bet then.

No worries! Uh, well I was _supposed_ to be there end of this month, but it looks like it’ll get postponed by a month or two. I might be there for around 4-5 months (if I do)

Oooh over the summer! That will be nice.
I’m all the way down the other end of the country alas, or I’d be like “beanie meet up?!” haha

@sicarius Ooh a beanie meetup would have been nice! Where do you live though? Also, everyone’s saying Nice! Summer! But the temperatures in summer there are like those during peak “winter” where I live so I’ve been really confused as to what to expect from the weather. @_@

HAHAHAHA Oh typical kiwis. We can’t handle too much over 30 Celsius hahah or we melt.
I can’t really say as to what weather you’ll get because NZ weather is also notorious for four seasons in one day and we have a myriad of micro climates, meaning that different parts of the same proivnce will get different weather in one hour. I also come from the south, Queenstown area to be precise, which is slightly more continental than the rest of NZ, so it’s colder and drier down here, than coastal or north.

Yeah! That’s what I’d heard – the four seasons in one day bit. I’m excited though, cause I’ll finally get to wear coats xDD

I live in Arrowtown actually, which is 20 mins out of Queenstown central.

@sicarius i went to arrowtown! it was super charming as well 😀 i visited it when there weren’t many people around so one of the only nice photos I managed to take was in arrowtown ^^

it seemed like it was mainly a tourist town though – are things okay now after the lockdowns?

indians are obsessed with gold so i got those little floating gold flakes they sell in the stores as souvenirs for my mum and she was asking me why i didn’t buy more hahah
