To beanies all over the world as well as in the US where we are celebrating Thanksgiving today I wish you all a good day full of joy and thankfulness for who you are and how much you are loved.
Maybe we should just celebrate Thanksgiving every day (without all the food of course) but trying to be thankful for where we are right now and right here.
Granted it is easier said than done isn’t it?

But know how grateful I am to everyone who is a part of Dramabeans and have made it into the wonderful community it is.

This week I got some bad news, then *very good* news – and my heart is full of grief, as well as anticipation. Remember a couple of months ago I wrote a post that I needed to look for another job? Because I like where I work it was a very half-hearted effort and didn’t expect anything at all to happen until after the first of the year.

Well, this past Monday morning I had a phone interview and frankly wasn’t interested in the job or the commute, but still wanted the interview practice. In all honesty I was rather flippant and even joked around a bit. However the two people I talked to seemed really nice and the job sounded good as well. But I didn’t expect anything.

Monday afternoon we got an email that the company I work as a contractor wants all the contractors to take a total of 3 weeks off during and after the holidays! Needless to say I was upset – this is 3 weeks without pay for me and I was feeling very stressed.

Come Tuesday morning I get a call from the recruiter telling me that they want me to come start work in January!!! And the pay is SIGNIFICANTLY more than what I make now. So my now 10 min commute will become 50 – but the paychecks will help.

However, I LOVE where I work and the team I work with and the company and the technology. So I’m grieving leaving everyone, and at the same time know it will be a better opportunity. (I hope!)

Until this Friday when I give my 2 week notice I can’t tell anyone other than a few close friends around me. But I wanted all my beanie family to know that your encouragement when I posted the first time was very much appreciated.

Now back to the thanks part – I am so grateful to be a part of a community that loves the same kind of dramas and stories but also challenge me in so many ways to think about the stories. I only hope I can add as much to the community as many others do as well.

So CAHM-SAHM-ME-DAH!!!!!!

Sending flowers to everyone – especially those facing horrible weather this weekend!

    Congratulations.
A commute can be hard, but I hope that everything else outweighs it. Good Luck.

Thank you @shach – I hope I get to work with a group of people as great as my team from the last 3 years.
And happy thanksgiving, or happy day of thanks to you wherever you are!

Thank you @halfmoon – I am feeling very grateful for many things today. Mostly that we just have cold weather and no icy bomb cyclone and snow! yechh
      You have a great day!

Thank you @ayaan – the few I have talked to understand completely and say I will be missed, but that I need to take care of myself.
I’ll still be living in the same town so we will see each other……

Congratulations! Hoping you have ice free commutes all winter and that you enjoy the new job and co-workers just as much.

Thanks @ndlessjoie! Ice scares me the most! But I did ask if I could work remotely if the weather was bad and it’s okay. Many people make this commute and the freeway drive is a nice one. Besides my brother lives in that town and he already said I could stay with him one night a week if I need. He is the best bro!

Thank you @msrabbit – I’m getting more used to the idea every day – just not looking forward to giving notice to the management I like so well.
I hope your Thanksgiving was nice. Ours was sunny and dry – but cold. Perfect day!!!
Of course my brothers with me and TONS of food were a big bonus.
Did you have a good thanksgiving?

Good to hear that you had a great Thanksgiving. I had a good one too. I was travelling to Asia to see my family. Not fun to travel during Thanksgiving, but since I get to see my family, it’s all worth it. 😁

The only thing is that I have very limited access to the Internet, so I can’t check DB all the time now.

I just saw this post and want to offer my late congratulations. Have you started the new job yet?

Thanks @egads not yet. In fact tomorrow is my last day at work and I’m feeling soooooo saddddddd – but getting LOTS of hugs from co-workers and friends I’ve met in the hallway over the years.
Very bittersweet. Then I’m off (aka unemployed) for two weeks and start the new job on Jan 6th.
Not yet excited for the new environment as I’m still letting go of where I am now.
