Not romance centered? Not a serial killer saga. The Island of Sea Women – excellent. The Blue Castle – good, but won’t become a favorite.
Nothing will ever beat A Prayer for Owen Meany. I usually enjoy Jane Smiley, Anne Patchett and Barbara Kingsolver.
Children’s and Young Adult’s novels are acceptable too. Everyone should read Tomie dePaola’s autobiographical series written for children. @egads should read Irving and Muktuk: Two Bad Bears by Daniel Pinkwater.
Okay.. just going to throw this recommendation: All the Lights We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Not Romance centered, no serial killers but war-time story. Detailed, beautiful, lyrical writing! Perfect for this weather.. also, maybe prepare some tissues if you’re ever going to read it!

I recently re-read Kazuo Ishiguro’s “The Remains of the Day”. Highly recommend! I’m currently Elena Ferrante’s trilogy, which is very absorbing.

The Woman in the Mirror by A. J. Finn
Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
Profoundly moved, and wept in many parts. They are my favourite books of 2019.
