Bae Seul-gi made her entertainment industry debut as a member of the South Korea project group The Red in 2005. She launched a solo singing career in 2006 following the group’s split. In September of that year, she dropped her debut studio album titled The 1st Volume, which produced the hit single Tomboy. In October 2007, she released her second studio album Flying, which was followed by the extended play Big Show in April 2009.


In 2011, Bae Seul-gi landed supporting roles in the dramas Best Love and Night Hospital, which both aired on MBC. In 2017, she became part of the Amazon original series The Idolmaster KR, which was based on the Japanese video game The Idolmaster. In 2021, she was cast as one of the main leads in the SBS daily drama Amor Fati.


In 2020, Bae Seul-gi married her boyfriend, who is a YouTube content creator.
