Hwang Sun-hee landed her first screen role in the 2010 SBS series It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl. In 2011, she became part of the SBS drama Sign, which earned her a Special Acting Award nomination at the SBS Drama Awards. Her work in Sign as well as in the 2011 SBS series City Hunter scored her a Best New Actress nomination at the 4th Korea Drama Awards. In 2012, she bagged her first leading role in the KBS2 daily drama TV Novel: Love, My Love, in which she was nominated for Best New Actress at the KBS Drama Awards. In 2013, she joined the main cast of Melody of Love, which aired on KBS1. In 2018, she played a supporting role in the KBS2 series Lovely Horribly.
