Jeon So-min debuted as an actress in the 2004 MBC sitcom Miracle. In 2006, she landed her first big screen role in the supernatural horror film Cinderella. In 2013, she was cast in her first leading role in the MBC daily series Aurora Princess, which won her Best New Actress at the MBC Drama Awards. In 2016, she was nominated for an Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards for her performance in Tomorrow Victory. Also in 2016, she led the Dramax series 1% of Anything, opposite Ha Suk-jin. In 2017, she became a cast member of the popular SBS variety show Running Man, which scored her numerous recognitions, including a Top Excellence Award at the SBS Entertainment Awards. In 2018, she starred in the tvN dramas Cross and Top Star Yoo Baek.

Jeon So-min attended Dongduk Women’s University. She dated actor Yoon Hyun-min in 2015.
