Kim Dae-gon landed his first screen roles in 2016 in the KBS2 series Beautiful Mind and in the omnibus film If You Were Me. In 2018, he joined the tvN medical thriller Cross and the OCN series Life on Mars. That same year, he became part of several movies such as Snatch Up and Rampant. In 2019, he appeared in a number of TV series including the tvN romantic comedy Reach of Sincerity and the JTBC sageuk My Country: The New Age. In 2020, he portrayed one of the ghosts in the tvN drama Hi Bye, Mama! In 2021, he played supporting characters in the KBS2 supernatural series Sell Your Haunted House and in the SBS crime thriller Taxi Driver. In 2022, he acted alongside Lee Sung-kyung and Kim Young-dae in tvN’s Shooting Stars.
