Kim Jung-young began her career as a theater actress. She made her film debut with a small role in the 2000 crime-drama film Real Fiction by director Kim Ki-duk. She reunited with Kim in Bad Guy in 2001 and in Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter… and Spring in 2003. She also expanded into acting on TV, mostly playing supporting characters. In 2016, she had appearances in several television dramas such as OCN’s Vampire Detective and tvN’s The Good Wife. In 2017, she was cast in the MBC action-thriller Lookout and in the KBS2 sageuk Seven Day Queen. She also became part of JTBC’s Clean With Passion for Now in 2018 and tvN’s Black Dog in 2019. In 2020, she played Kim Min-jae’s mother in the SBS series Do You Like Brahms. In 2021, she joined the KBS2 dramas River Where the Moon Rises and Sell Your Haunted House.


Kim Jung-young is married to actor Kim Hak-sun.
