Kim Kwang-kyu debuted as an actor in the 1999 film Dr. K and has since become active in both the big and small screens, mostly playing supporting characters. In 2008, he appeared in the MBC sitcom The Secret of Coocoo Island, which won him the Popularity Award at the MBC Entertainment Awards. In 2013, he joined KBS2’s God of the Workplace, which scored him an Excellence Award nomination at the 6th Korea Drama Awards. He then played a judge in the 2013 SBS fantasy romance series I Hear Your Voice, which earned him a nomination for a Special Award at the SBS Drama Awards. Also in 2013, he became a cast member of the MBC reality show I Live Alone, which gave him an Excellence Award at that year’s MBC Entertainment Awards. In 2017, he received the Best Entertainer Award at the SBS Excellence Awards for the reality program Burning Youth. In 2020, he took home an Excellence Award at the SBS Entertainment Awards for his work in the same reality show.
