Beanie level: Eunuch in drag

What’s wrong with these people?!?!?! Even after she begged not to share it. Leave them alone!!!! You can’t bring back LSK to life, so don’t make it worse for his family. Let them grieve in silent.😭

This just proves that we have learned nothing from this whole situation. Are they trying to push the family into a corner too?

It pisses me off more and more every minute. I just can’t with this. So fucking disrespectful.

They are scums. Absolutely disrespectful to the grieving family.

I’ll pray for the strength of the family. The family might as well relocate abroad. They can have a better life and be respected as humans should be in many other places in the world.

And broadcasting the note even when the family begged not to? Are these even humans?

    7
    1

Yes! This is the best scenario that I can think of for them to survive. We really need to learn to be compassionate more than anything else.

A collaboration between senior and junior.
I’ve always favored Baek-hyun’s tone, but Seo Moon-tak’s is just so good. Another surprise in the form of slow rock.

Skimming through Daily Dose of Sunshine as case to case story in a hospital isn’t my cup of tea. All I can say is the show has similar feeling to HP. I know I should focus more on the FL and ML stories to get the gist of the show, but I can’t help myself from rooting for Dal Rae (the nurse) and Dr. Hwang relationship. I even admit their relationship is the ony one that pulled me to the show. They are very wholesome as a couple minus the first kiss. While I cursed her mother internally and truly wished for her to disappear permanently for everything she’d done to her daughter, I am glad Dal Rae did just that with the support from her boyfriend.
Sorry Yeon Woo Jin; you’re way more attractive objectively, but this couple stole the show.

On the last ep of Life. Here’s Gu Seung Hyo; still the best president of a company that ever existed in Kdrama.

LIFE’s last episode, iirc the final scene, had for me by far the best cameo of 2018. There was a lot going on there.

True! Seo Dong Jae came from another universe.😊

Yes! Then on another level there was the “real” Dr. Ye (LJH-APAD) arriving while the “other” Dr. Ye (Lee Dong-wook-LIFE) observed from the side. It was great.

Now to the last voice that I love from EXO. He’s nowhere near Chen, Baekhyun, and Kyungsoo level technically, but man’s got raspy voice that melt my heart, and he plays piano!!!

4
2

Yes!! He’s got a nice singing voice, honestly would go as far as saying I prefer his singing to rapping sometimes. Which isn’t to say his rapping is bad or anything at all – far from it – but I just really rate his vocal colour a lot.

      IKR?!?!?!
He blends amazingly with anyone. No wonder he has several ost.

Since nothing really grabs my attention lately, I’ve been back to listening to EXO after Kyungsoo live performances, and I am officially fall in love again with their voices (well, some of them).

Been consciously putting Happiness on my waiting list since it aired; not because I have too many shows to watch, but more to my dislike of zombie stuff although I did watch Train to Busan and Kingdom, and quite loved the latter.

A few episodes in, I’ve come to love both leads and was convinced that Han Hyo Joo had better chemistry with Park Hyun Sik than she did with her other male leads (Dong Yi and Moving) . I was surprised on how compatible both to each other and couldn’t really see their age difference (They are 4 years apart IRL; I googled)! PHS did so well in this drama that he has made it to my short list of idol actor that I enjoy watching, joining Im Si Wan and Do Kyung Soo.

While I loved the leads wholeheartedly and was rooting for them from the beginning, I nearly lost it with most of the residents of the apartment. They were mean, rude, stupid, selfish, and ungrateful bunch of people. I’ve seen one too many people like them IRL that I do not wish to see any on my screen. I was really close to giving up to this show if not for the leads. Somehow, I ended up on the discussion of ep 12 the drama here and after reading the comments, decided to stick to it and I couldn’t be happier that I did so.

The show was successful in showing to the viewers that rather than afraid of the virus outbreak and the monsters it created, it was much more horrifying having real monsters around us. Humans are the pure monster indeed when they lack of the qualities that differentiate them to animals. I liked the idea that the better way to prevent the infected from turning into a monster was to put them close to their loved ones.

I’d say it was already a win when the show was successful in selling its points, I could overlook the flaws easily (mostly on how on earth after that many victims, the drug was still circulating and the SK government didn’t do anything about it and other small plot holes/illogical parts). I am glad to add this drama to the list of dramas I enjoyed this year. And who would’ve thought it’s a zombie show? I’ll be sure to check the writer in the future. Ah, it seems that Ahn Gil Ho loves this kind of opening. It is very similar to FoS.

Me while watching the show:

I\’ve been very unhappy these few weeks.
I was demoted from a noble to a eunuch after two months on the job. I know I was an idiot, but still, being dragged isn\’t exactly my definition of dream job. I\’d like to walk on my own. Thank you.

Finally done bingeing {???) Moving .
Despite my reservation on violence stuff I’ve heard about the drama, I was hooked from the first episode. I was surprised that I found the violence weren’t as bad as I thought it would be, partly because I consider it’s a fantasy, so it didn’t affect me much, though I still looked away when there’s cracking bones and other scary sounds from when somebody was hurting.
I loved the main characters instantly; how they each navigated the new part of their lives respectively. I empathized with the kids greatly and felt somehow proud with how they coped with their own situation particularly Bong Seok and Hui Soo; granted, they got more screen time than Gang Hoon. It was an enjoyable watch in most part. I managed to give it my full attention up until ep 8. I love that all three parents showed their love to their kids, although it irked to see how poor the two parents treated Bong Seok and Hui Soo; like they couldn’t do anything and denying them the truth about their current situation. Can’t we have an open and honest relationship between parent and child, writer?
I found the acting was great in general from the adults to the kids. While it’s no secret that Ryu Seung Ryong is a good actor, Kim Sun Kyun’s acting was like a revelation to me; he was totally believable as a character. While some swooned over Jo In Sung, he’s the weakest among the adults IMO; He’s acting was uneven in parts; I was particularly disinterested during his fight in North Korea. He could fly, we all knew that, but his face didn’t show anything (any emotions) during those scenes. It was clear to me that he was only acting while being dragged by an invisible rope.
While I think I’d survive this show through the end based on the first few episodes, it wasn’t the case for me. I skip lots of scenes from ep 8-16; there were to many characters/plots thrown just for the sake of getting more episode, case on point; the romance between Ji Hee and Ju Won, Mi Hyun and Do Shik. The show tried to appeal to the romantic side, I know, but at the same time they ignore the more significant issues such as the real reason for the initial murder done by Frank which was ordered by US government (The show must have thought that one call to the US from SK was enough to explain the murder and its repercussions.) and the mess the North Korea agents caused. Not to mention what did the school actually do to train and protect those gifted kids? Zilch! Why bother gathering them in the first place? If those gifted people considered indispensable by SK government, their treatment prove it otherwise. Many parts seemed incoherent and it heavily relied on the fight’s scenes and the massive cast to keep the show going. I would’ve preferred different people casted as younger characters; how would they expect us to believe Cha Tae Hyun as a high schooler, and the evident age different between Han Hyo Joo and Lee Jung Ha. All in all, It’s no doubt the writer/show in general was over-ambitious ; they tried to serve many things at once that they neglected numerous things; the origin of their super power and Gye Do character included.
My main issue with this show is that there were too many fights scenes that somehow it became counter-productive; instead of building our emotion through their battles, it served merely as fight scenes. It was too much that it became less impactful, add to that was the editing; there were too many unnecessary flashbacks that somehow the story relied on them to explain most things, not to mention we watched the same scenes like more than once due to the editing, but the icing on the cake was the reason for the killings and fights; they were unwarranted no matter how we try to make sense of it. Other than the parent-kids part, anything else was there for no other reason than to make it extra violent.
I was so ready to put this show in a special place like Kingdom from the first few episodes that I enjoyed immensely, but the writing and editing ruined that possibility for me. Ciao!

Me too!!! I love this album than the previous one. I equally love Baekhyun’s voice but find myself click more with Kyung Soo’ songs. What’s your fave? If I have to pick one it would be Ordinary Days.

      1
      1

Me too on both fronts!!! Same with Chen honestly, he’s an amazing vocalist but still click with D.O.’s releases more.

I really like Ordinary Days, it feels like a very versatile song in terms of a ‘seasonal vibe’! It’s warming up in my corner of the earth so I was sitting out in the garden with the new album on, and Ordinary Days really fit the ‘warm spring afternoon’ vibe outside, but I could also equally see myself putting it on a colder wintery night or something.

My favourite is ‘Lost’ though – I think the rawness of the acoustic version puts it slightly ahead of the ‘normal’ version – I’ve had it on replay the most out of all the songs in this album. The sound also reminds me a bit of 5sos, who were my previous biggest loves before I found K-pop (still love them now, the love is just spread around a few more groups now hahahaha 😅)

        3
        1

I can’t pick between The view and Lost. They both filled with so much heart that even though I don’t understand the lyrics, they both break my heart in the best possible ways.

He’s realising his second album this month. There’s a video of the highlights of his upcoming songs on youtube. I was so ecstatic and felt like more people should know abt him but afraid I’d spam the fan wall if I posted more.😄

        2
        2

Spam away. The fan wall is created for that purpose, I suppose. Because I don’t understand Korean, and I don’t listen to songs in general (esp ones that I don’t understand), I wish he would sing in English more because I’m sure very few Korean sing in English this beautifully. That is a BIG talent.

Exactly my thought. People might think English is his first language just from the way he sings. And I love how effortlessly he sings.

      2

He seems more relaxed and seems to enjoy himself when he sings. He was born to sing, that I can say. He shines when he sings (and English pls), so make use of the talent!

      2
      1

I knew he’d always been good, but I was blown away the same. I don’t know, but almost all singers I know have something that tells us they’re Korean, but Kyung Soo seems to be void of that quality. And yes, his voice is heavenly.

        2
        1

His pronunciation is very good. You can almost hear his l and r ending sounds in words that end with those two. He also assimilates when he sings. If a person isn’t very fluent in English, they might sing it word by word. For example, “All I want is to fall..”. His is something like “AllI wannit to fall..”. You see, he assimilates naturally and beautifully. He is on another level compared to many K singers.

          2
          7

The assimilation is very clear in “So just give me ALLOF you”.

Suhyun is great with everyone. It’s funny to see her brother so unconfortable beside. It was the same when she sang with CN Blue’s Yonghwa.

She was great in JTBC’s Begin Again.

    2
    1

Suhyun has great voice, but her English pronunciation is not as good as Kyungsoo here. In fact, I might think that he is the first SK singer who sings in English this beautifully.

SuHyun shines brighter when she sings in her own language. She outdid Yong-hwa when they sang together. But here, Kyungsoo outshone her.

      1
      1

I think Suhyun has a very good accent. I don’t really care who has the better accent but more about the singing and she’s great. It’s all.

She didn’t outdid Yonghwa. It was a simple duets with no even the whole songs. Their voices blended well and balanced each other well too. Outdid… pfff…
