#2023 SBS Drama Awards

Random thoughts on these SBS Drama awards

Love that Kim Tae-Ri is getting more recognition. She’s amazing and continues her amazing streak with Revenant Even more amazing is the success despite the late start of her career

Hwasa changing her song from I Love my body to LMM 🫶🏻🥺. Hwasa is truly an angel with her tribute to Lee Sun-Kyun.💔

Best Young Actress – how did Yu-Na Kidnapping Day not win this?

Top actor and top actress award. I really like the show My Demon. Song Kang and Kim Yoo-Jung as best actor and best actress? 🤔 While I think they did a fine job, I also think they are both amazingly pretty faces with okay acting chops. I can think of many actors/actresses who deserved this soo much more.

The audience- when the camera panned to the audience- it was tiny. Sometimes we forget just how small Korea is.

    The Kidnapping Day is not an SBS drama.

    This is what Lee Je Hoon said in his acceptance speech, and now part of the K-netizens are bashing him for saying he wished to follow LSK’s path?! Sometimes I really don’t know if I saw and heard what they saw and heard, because I couldn’t get why they’d interpret it that way. This is also showing that part of the K-netizens are to blame for LSK’s tragic fate because of their malicious comments regardless of what it is attributed to, culture or constitution.

    I respect artists who mourned LSK in public. I can imagine how much they were affected by his death.

      I understand when someone tells me don’t blame it on SK people as a whole, but this level of toxicity is making me think whether and how much more I should consume its content.

        @mmmmm my beloved beanie.

        If you choose to boycott k content, aren’t you inherently β€œcancelling” them the same way k-society cancels their celebrities at the first misstep.

        I wish the entire world population would watch My Ajusshi because I believe the messages the writer/actor/director tries to send would make the world a better more empathetic place. I believe the voices of compassion and support needs to drown out the call to cancel.

        I’ll leave this with another insightful quote from My Ajusshi that I attempt to live by on a daily basis. Instead of blame and condemn- it’s a call to forgive and help.

        “If you get to know a person, if you get to know them, nothing they do bothers you. And I know you.”

          I hate that you sound so right, Lostpanda (and have you found your way back?). Sigh. I admit I can’t understand this 100%. It isn’t their first misstep. It doesn’t look like they have learned or realized what they did was wrong. It’s heartbreaking even to think about forgiving this since a life lost can’t be taken back. But somehow, your opinion also sounds right.

          I hate this.
