I can’t articulate how I feel about this episode. Still good, I don’t have major complaints, just major concern if we’re going to have sufficient airtime to nicely wrap-up our OTP’s romance. 🥺😩

But I’m still putting my trust in our PD-nim and writer-nim. Jebal!

    I squealed at Jang Yeol’s pathetic failed attempt at confessing his love for her. Boy has fallen long and hard for Ye Bun ❤

    My heart again went thump thump when he ascertained his feelings to the captain😍

    Now, I am mad at the drama/writer for killing Seon Woo. That was a lousy and cheap trick to get rid of SML to cement the lead’s romance. When the comedy has been brilliant so far, I do not see why they couldn’t have slowly made Ye Bun discover her feelings for Jang Yeol.

      Completely agree! It was a cheap way to get rid of Seon-woo.

      Or, if they were going to take this route, I feel like he should have been one of the first victims. I also don’t like that Ye-bun is getting more trauma than necessary with this one. Grandpa dying makes sense, Seon-woo dying just seems like going too far.

        But I am glad they at least didn’t make him the killer, because that prospect was making me even more distressed for Ye-bun’s sake!

          This may seem like a bright spot, but it is not just about Ye Bun. Seon Woo’s entire arc feels like a bait and switch for the murder mystery with no real importance given to him as a character. What is he, a plot device? If so, why give him a tragic past and why make viewers/Ye Bun feel sympathetic for him? When he opened up to Ye Bun about him running whenever there is a mention of his mom, it is like the writers decided, “Yeah, we don’t know how to help you find solace. There is no hope, let’s finish you off. ” This is not what I expected from the drama, given the fact that it was going strong until Ep 13.

        I thought his death is actually something that could cause a rift between our leads. His complete lack of distrust and constant accusation made Soon-woo fear coming clean to the cops. He got the killers knife, and he didn’t disclose it because he was scared that JH will use it against him and tag him killer.
        If only… there are so many If only’s..
        If only Ye-Bun stayed in that cell…
        Their combined lack of trust and total trust is so polar opp, I don’t know what is going to bring them together…
        I am just very confused. lol.

          Agree! Jang-yeol’s lack of trust and Ye-bun’s complete trust. I can’t blame JY though, it’s his job as a detective to not trust blindly, and also SW was acting all sus. I was kind of annoyed with YB for not being prudent given the situation.

            I feel the opposite of you. Jang Yeol is like every other cop out there in real life, who pride themselves of serving justice, but in hindsight are bullies who blindly stick to accusing a person of crime based on their gut instinct without doing a proper job of investigating the crime based on evidence. I feel the responsibility of Seon Woo’s death lies solely on JY because as @mayhempf pointed out, if only the cops trusted Seon Woo, he would have mentioned about finding the murder knife in his workshop.

      Omg, same! The context of that direct confession to Ye-bun was a jerky move, but just hearing Jang-yeol tell Ye-bun “Date me” made me squeed hard. And that one with Captain, I can’t believe the word “both” can be so swoony.

      You’re right. It would have been better if there were more scenes that showed the shift in Ye-bun’s crushing on Seon-woo to realizing her feelings for Jang-yeol. Ye-bun’s “It’s not like that.” meant a lot, but they could have done more.

And for this week’s MVP — it’s none other than Detective Na! The stalking skillz y’all!

This show did not disappoint yet again. 1) Not failing to include comedic relief; 2) creative and in-character running gags (Detective Na’s stalking skills and Dok-hee’s interpretation skills).

And Jang-yeol getting the best of both worlds investigative teams. These 5 wackos crouching so closely together in such a small frame was enough to crack me up.

    I may have found her whole cheating husband schtick annoying but this was PERFECT lol and man, I legitimately didn’t recognize her in that disguise.

    !I was so surprised how they tied it (her stalking the cheating husband) back to the investigation!!. It was just perfect. Why was in even surprised the show pulled this off!!
    And I still can’t recognize her!! I bet even her husband couldn’t tell. Lol.

    Captain subtly uttering “Who’s the psychic here?” after her awesome finger-reading and lip-reading had me LOL. Now, with 3 more episodes to go, I can’t wonder if the team has planned more to her arc.

    I can’t really say I was fond of Detective Na.
    Her behavior towards her husband – stalking and suspicious about everything was off-putting.
    Her comments on the live streamer’s social media were outright toxic.
    But we are meant to take all that with a pinch of salt and consider it as world building then BOOM 💥 💥 😄

    This decoding of texts
    writing, lip reading and disguising as delivery boy were genius mode ON.

    Dok-hee’s interpretation skills have always been par excellence.

Okay, so the killer was already revealed (or not?). I’m pretty sure the murder mystery will be wrapped up by Ep14. Okay, just 90% sure, because you can never be sure of what’s about to happen with this show. But please, wrap up the murder mystery already, and give the finale week to Ye-Yeol.

    If they actually did that I would give this show my first born (ignore the fact that I do not want children).

    I’m glad we FINALLY got plot movement, in a way that finally doesn’t seem like a red herring. And our team is finally actually working together, butt touching and all. It took long enough!

Random thoughts:

So I’ve been watching Call It Love for some time now. I am not familiar with the actress playing the male lead’s ex-girlfriend, but I felt like I’ve seen her before. Every time I’d see her in my screen, I would get curious but I never attempted to search about her.

Then yesterday while playing on my phone, I suddenly remembered (it was so random and out of the blue) a Because This Is My First Life parody video I’ve watched around last year and it clicked on me that the girl in the video resembled much the actress. It should be her! I had to check, and it was indeed her – Hani from EXID. How dare me!

She’s so demure (and pretty!) in CIL I was lowkey mind-blown she’s the same girl making parody of BTIMFL.

Also, I love it every time I would finally recognize an actor I’ve seen before in a different show/project on my own/without googling. So satisfying. Lol!

    I love her and I loved these drama parodies the EXID girls did, too. They’re all SO funny. I’m so happy that Hani’s acting career is shaping up pretty well. She’s getting consistent, varied work and I’m proud of her.

    Man, the whole culture on the set seems like so much fun! The other day I was watching the BTS for the scene where Ok-hui and her crew stage the election fight, and even being one of the very minor characters seemed like SO much fun! I know acting is hard work, but sometimes it really just looks like playing around, too. 🤭

    I can’t get over how cute Han Ji-min and Lee Min-ki are together. The way she had to turn around so her laughing wouldn’t make him laugh but he could still see her shoulders shaking 😂

    I don’t know what’s better, their reactions when someone messes up or the impressed “oooooo” when they do well, hehe.
