I don’t think it was that serious back then. He had a little crush on her, but it never went anywhere because she was obsessed with the SML. Now, the photo is in present crime scene meaning the relationship led somewhere, but for some reason, Sun Jae still killed himself. I wonder if the writer is trying to hint that it was actually a murder.

My other current theory is that the SL saved Sol and died. That would explain why her mother acted suspicious and did not give Sol a name of her savior.

I was thinking about this too!! I think in the first ep you assume that the radio call was just random luck but following this theory that in that timeline, SJ knew Sol (but she didn’t know him because she was in love with SML at this point I guess), it would make sense still if he called her number knowingly! And it also further colours all their interactions in the pre-timetravel timeline. Also random but I thought it was so cute that the white lollies that she gives him when they were teens ends up becoming his favourite candy, which is maybe why he was looking the jar of it (that adult Sol gives him) with a weird look (for a lack of better word, it looked like he was flitting through several emotions at once in this scene).

It totally does deserve sky high ratings. It’s the bee’s knees, the cat’s pajamas, as well as it’s meow!

SK ratings don’t necessarily equate artistic quality. Often, they don’t even equal Beanie stamp of approval.

It’s a more populist drama for sure, but a rather well done one that follows the more classic kdrama model. Some have pinpointed to its weekender-ish multiple story lines. Others, SK’s endless chaebol fascination (and even more, their humbling). Some love one lead or the other, or just the tragic-romantic feels of the unusually already married OTP. And the screenwriter has quite the following. Etc. Etc.

And sometimes, there’s no one reason. A show just snowballs, it becomes a cultural phenomenon that everyone wants to be part of. And in an era of declining drama ratings, I’m really glad because it ensures more dramas will keep getting made.

Me, I just ffw’d the parts I don’t like and forget the parts that don’t make sense. Love the rest, including both leads. I hope it sticks the landing and becomes a classic.

Glad to have come across this post. QoT is average imo. Neither are the leads giving their best performance. KSH has done better before and KJW does not have the X factor of other PJE leads like Jun Ji Hyun and Son ye jin. I too think that there have been few good dramas that the bar for good dramas has really lowered. After a while, when the hype dies down, QoT may not be remembered as one of the critically good shows unlike other PJE dramas which had more substance than this. This is in a way glamorous makjang.

King The Land was a bigger production but at the end was pretty empty. This one is a little production but has a lot of heart.

The way the dialog in WI is delivered is fresh, I love the pace!

Previews are often misleading but yes here they do seem to be just stringing along … just so long its fun I don’t necessarily need a kiss!! 😂

She is definitely struggling to put in a remotely believable performance, and is very robotic and uncharismatic despite being a beautiful woman. But I have a little bit of pity for her because her role is also terribly unwritten. It’s true that everyone else’s is as well and they’re doing better than she is, but not by much, imo.

Impossible Heir – something is still off about the show – Editing and script i guess… + FL sucks

I get thsi is supposed to be some supercool revenge kind of a drama but seriously there is no build up to appreciate what intricate planning is being done by the leads.. SML is actually a good actor… and don’t know what is he doing in this show..

You know what I found strange, I think there are a lot of male Beans that are watching this one. I don’t know why, but that is my observation. I don’t think it has garnered rave reviews, but there is clearly at least one group of Beans here who have stuck with it throughout the show. I guess is that it’s still running, so maybe you can try a couple of first eps? I LIKE UEE, but upon seeing the comments from Beans that were watching it, I think I made the right choice of choosing something else.

Nah, I started but dripped it after a while. I don’t expect weekenders to be perfect but my basic rule is the existence of lovable characters – but not here. Not even a nice grandma.
