Morning conversations:
Hubby: It looks like all the schools are closed due to icy roads.
Me: So, do you want to drive me to work?
Hubby: We can’t both die!
Me: So I’ll drive myself.
Hubby: Wait until they get salt on the streets in the neighborhood at least.
Me: *calls my clinic to be late* *gets text stating that my first patient is already there*
I can’t, I have to go in, I have someone already there.
Hubby: *waits at driveway to make sure I get up the first hill in the neighborhood, which I slide up* *calls and makes sure I didn’t get stuck on the second hilly curve in the neighborhood, which I also slide through at 10 MPH* Call me when you get to work!
Me: *getting to work in one piece—and the car in one piece as well—calling hubby* Ok, I’m here! Roads were fine once I got out of the neighborhood!
Hubby: Good! Have a good day!
Really, I’m always so happy hearing about other people’s love stories and how little things form a happy marriage. If I don’t have a chance to experience something like this in the future, I just hope that I’ll get something similar to this… like good friends, or good people around me who can brighten my days just by their existence.
But I actually have quite a lot of those around me already these days.. 🥰
you definitely married a keeper! My sister’s in-laws are super cute. They were all visiting me in England and my sister’s mother-in-law unthinkingly stepped unto the road, and her husband yanked her back onto the sidewalk and said “You have to be careful!! I only have one of you!!!”
