“The Package” is such an underrated and underappreciated drama. It deserves more love. It’s only 12 epsiodes and available on viki. It’s about 7 individuals who take a package tour of France and their guide. There’s no overarching story line but is very character driven. The plus side is that you get to tour France complete with a tour guide and everything free of cost 🤩
I despise the whole “if we really are meant to be then fate will bring us back together. We will just wait and see.” There was no logically reason for them to not be proactive on their own and stay together. She just was obsessed with that “romantic” idea.
Hm so I personally do believe in this “if we are meant to be, we are meant to be” fate thingie but at the same time I don’t think this means one can’t proactively seek the other. In terms of the drama, I think there were good reasons for So So to not want to return to Korea at the moment. She needed self satisfaction through her phd for herself, after all this is the reason she wanted to go to France in the first place. I also understood her when she explained why she doesn’t want a long term relationship with him (basically not wanting her relationship to suffer the way Trash Oppa’s and Na jung’s did in reply 94) and I guess they didn’t exchange phone numbers because they didn’t want to tie each other down..? Soo narratively speaking for me it did make sense that both mutually decided to part ways until fate brought them together again.
I can get why she wanted to stay and why she didn’t want a long distance relationship. But, they could have exchanged numbers and when she was ready, reach out. That shouldn’t be a burden. If he moved on by then, then oh well. I just think of it more as she’s not really all that into him unless fate forces them together again then she might as well get back together with him. A long lasting relationship isn’t going to work if a person is relying on fate to make all their decisions.
Oh really? Whenever I’m watching a drama I’m always curious whether the situations, characters etc portrayed in the drama are really like that in real life too. I really appreciate your comment beacuse it’s always interesting whenever someone from the same profession/setting in real life talk about how accurately it has been portrayed.
I will share one cute story. (I was not there). My friend was on a river cruise in Europe with her then boyfriend. And one day on the deck during happy hour he proposed to her in front of the other tour members. She was a little tipsy and didn’t realize he was getting down on his knees or what he was doing but the other ladies started freaking out for her. She said yes.

The Package was indeed very underrated. I just loved how I travelled France only from my couch but it was deeper and I still need to complete it 🤦🏻♀️

I really liked it. I like how everyone in the group was a well developed character and also getting to see “different” parts of France in some depth.

I love this movie. I’ve worked with tour groups and student groups. The shenanigans and characters are super relatable.

And it’s shot pre-pandemic which makes everything even more lovely. Yes I really liked this show as well!
