Hey beanies, question: How or what apps do you use to make GIFs? I\’ve always wanted to make gifs of my favorite scenes from kdramas

    I use Giphy.com! You’ll need a YouTube link for that to work.

    Some YouTube channels (like DramaKBS) don’t allow displays on other sites, so getting the timing right is a bit of a hassle, but it’s still possible. tvN and MBC channels work fine with Giphy.

        This I’m not too sure! I also don’t have access to Viki and Dramafever because I’m not in the US.

        But I’ve seen some other Beanies posting Gifs with subtitles which I *think* may be from one of those sites. @hades and @rinny maybe you guys can help bogummyshipda with this question?

        Yes, you can.

        A GIF can be done as a screen recording or by uploading a video to a GIF making site like GIPHY or GIFS.com. The most flexible way would be via a screen recording. Do you use a Mac or a PC? Both GIPHY and GFYCAT have apps you download for Mac. Not 100% sure about PC. You can find a PC guide with alternatives and the step by step method of doing a screen recording for GIFs here. There are also apps you can download on your smartphone and you can make GIFs from there. If you’re unable to use the apps, then you’ll have to use the YouTube links.

        When you’ve found the means to make a GIF, check out this post on how to post it on DB. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions.

        I forgot to mention. A GIF is treated as a video in the text box when posting. So when you’re posting a single GIF, do it under the videos section and not pictures section.

        Personally, I use an app called “GIPHY CAPTURE” which is the app-interface to the giphy website. Because it is a separate application, it can capture anything you play in front of the drag-and-drop window, similar to a screen capture. I got it from the app store on my mac.

        As another option: Years and years ago (before posting on DB) I used screen recording software to record video of what I wanted to gif, and then uploaded the video into photoshop as a frame-by-frame gif file. This workaround takes a lot more time, but it works on all operating systems, and allows for really detailed editing of gifs if that is what you want.

Watching Reply 1988 made me realize how x10000 studious and diligent Koreans are when it comes to studying. They even go home during midnight due to studying. It must be safe back then.
