This scene was pure GOLD 🤣 I feel a little embarrassed for him! He totally got caught 🤦‍♀️ What a genius reversed gender roles drama 💪

Jung Kyung Ho cameo in Crash Landing On You 😄 I somehow expected his cameo would be longer than few shots,

After finishing the first episode I have to say I’m so glad Hyun Bin doesn’t play another arrogant chaebol who hurts people with his words. I’ve had more than enough experience with his HB being a jerk,

I might have screamed when I saw JKH, eventhough I knew he has a cameo. Haha

Anyways, the whole dating scene makes me think they were taking a jab at the real-life dating rumours 🤣.

I need SYJ and JKH to work together one day. I want her to play with all actors I like actually haha

I found this of reddit and had a good laugh 😂 I luckily dodged all of them this year but I feel bad for all of you who watched those dramas! Hope next year will be the better year for k-dramas…

Yes!! I wish DB would do a reverse bean count for despised/dropped shows.

Luckily there were some good dramas to balance it out for me.

I only watched Extraordinary You. At least, it gave us something good and was crackastic.

I liked Extraordinary You and as for Vagabond..at least we had a good laugh with the recaps/comments/alternate plots.

    3

Of all of this only Extraordinary you hurt. Because it is just sad when a show is so so good but then nothing happens. It was excellent the first 6 episodes but then it didn’t go downhill, it just remained stagnant. While it’s not as bad as a show which was terrible from the start, this kind of disappointment hurts more because a few episodes raise your expectations to the sky. Otoh I love the unfiltered descriptions given to these shows 😂

    Mine:
Memories of Alhambra: The game was interesting at first, and then it became too complex and out of hand it didn’t make sense. Female lead was nearly always crying. Why did secretary Seo had to die like that. What was that ending. Did he die or not? And….the writer’s wrap up interview. That interview made me dislike the show more.

Vagabond: What was that ending 2.0. Shin Sung Rok was so underutilized. Reckless male lead character and female lead character. (Note: character not the actor/actress)

When the Devil Calls Your Name: Too complex. I never understood what the drama was trying to tell and I didn’t symphatize with any of the characters. I managed to dislike JKH’s character, that’s saying a lot since he is the main protagonist and also one of my favourite actors.

    2
    3

More about Vagabond: it had a flimsy plot. The loveline contrived and forced. But I gotta say I did like the OTT car flip and Dalgun kicking the car door off and stepped out in one of the early episodes. It was one of the most OTT hilarious scenes that I never imagined seeing. That and the mobile phone surgery. It made me laugh 🤣.

WTDCYN was a disappointment. Something which could’ve been good reunion. First few episodes were fine but then it just dragged and became boring, it was too ambitious and didn’t understand how to handle or close that.

Memories of Alahambra was one of those that I watched whole heartedly then dropped at 17/18 I sometimes do that with no real animosity or dislike I just dont watch the new episodes without analyzing why, I think part of me recognizes that there will be no satisfactory resolution( at least for me) and judging from the comments I dont regret it though I really loved to see Hyun bin In something I enjoyed so much, I was disappointed in Hyde, Jekyll&I – also dropped in the last few episodes

I dodged these too, 🍒! I started arthdal, but barely got 2 Episodes in. It was a mess from the start.

Imagine if Gong Yoo would be in something like this 😅 Would we be able to watch?

Talking about GY, he neeeeeeeeds to come back to drama land. I need new 16 hours of him.

Today was the first time I tried Tteok-bokki with scallions and boiled eggs. I really liked a chewy texture but the spicy level was crazy for me. Koreans really do love spicy food and put chilli paste into everything. Northern Vietnamese cuisine (where my family and my in-laws come from) isn’t this spicy though we use fresh 🌶 rather than paste.

And to be honest Vietnamese food is still better than Korean ☺️👌👍 I grew up on Czech and Vietnamese food, but I frequently had Italian and French meals too. But still, I think Vietnamese cuisine is the tastiest! 🇻🇳

Looks delicious, what are those fried balls? I like tteobokki but I can’t take the spiciness for the sake of spiciness, thankfully most recipes are pretty easy to make at home so one can adjust the level of spice. I never tried Vietnamese kitchen although there are plenty of Chinese bars run by Vietnam natives in my country, they offer nor real Chinese nor Vietnamese cuisine but weird variation of “Asian”.

    5
    1

The balls are the potato croquettes, not sure why they put them there, probably one of the “fusion” thing. Tteok-bokki Was really spicy, I couldn’t finish the whole portion because it was too much for me.

Oh you should definitely try authentic Vietnamese cuisine! I know what you mean about “Asian” bistros that are mixtures of everything and probably taste nothing like real Vietnamese food.

Vietnamese cuisine is considered one of the best in the world, it’s neither spicy like Thai nor oily like Chinese. We use tons of fresh herbs and also ingredients like lemongrass, galangal, aniseed, Vietnamese mint, basil, perilla, etc. so our food is very colourful and smells delicious.

You just make me hungry 😉 I need to check for authentic Vietnamese restaurant when I’ll visit some bigger city.

They do look like they’re ready to announce their engagement 😁 Is it too much to hope this will be better than Memories of Alhambra and Pretty Noona?

I really want them to be together but what if they are just cashing on the rumors. I feel like that is more probable.

Why is she wearing a night gown.

She looks like she just rolled out of bed…. Hair undone, meh dress borderlining a night gown slip, and a sweater too comfy of befitting a press con— she just looks unprofessional all around 😰😰😰

Good luck, Romantic Doctor Kim 2 team! I hope it’ll be at least enjoyable as the first season. They found an actor who’s still towering over Lee Sung Kyung, so that’s a good start 😅

I don’t know why I put off watching this gem of the show for so long when I could squeal and fangirl with you, Beanies, back then. This scene was particularly funny 😂

I think Bok Joo and Jun Hyung will always be special in our hearts ♥️ Too bad we probably won’t see NJH and LSK together onscreen again… But at least it looks like they parted ways amicably and are still friends, not a messy divorce as Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki.

I’m really not a fan of those wide trousers trend that keep popping recently. Despite their looks and heights, those trousers are truly unattractive!

When I was a counselor this was a trend among my clients who were suffering from eating disorders.

The larger/wider the clothes, the easier it is to hide the weight loss and seeing some of these actors and actresses, yeah, I can see it.

Jo Jung Suk, Jung Kyung Ho, Yoo Yeon Seok in one drama plus the director and writer of my all time favourites Reply Me 1997 and Prison Playbook? Did Christmas come early? 😍

This news got me shook. How is that possible? to be able to watch three of them in one drama, and from the Reply’s director…I love JJS and JKH like a lot, I soooo can’t wait for this one

        OMG! Explode indeed!!

Speaking of Gong Yoo, I just saw on IG there is a new talk show with Lee Dong Wook as host, and his first guest is Gong Yoo! I didn’t know about it!

I’m secretly hoping there is a balance of screen time. JKH had comparatively very less scenes in Prison Playbook but well he is a scene stealer so he did shine wherever he was. But here…we have 3 scene stealers. Equal screen time for all.

As I went through Nam Joo Hyuk’s filmography I realised he never had to play the second leads. He always got the girl. Even when he was a supporting actor, he had a separate love line with the female lead’s friend and never had to fight over a female lead with the main actor 😀

Looking at him with his leading ladies, I also realised I liked his performances most when he acted opposite actresses who were older than him (except for Bride of the Water God, that drama never happened).

Unlike others I’m not disappointed that he got cast opposite Jung Yoo Mi (11 years older) and Shin Min A (10 years older) in his upcoming dramas. People were against him and Han Ji Min pairing, but in the end the two of them surprised us with intense chemistry.

I love how a lot of us are pretending Bride of Water god never happened. 😂😂😂
Also Hyde, Jekyll and Me never happened. And Entertainer too didn’t air… 👀 I don’t know these dramas and I, for the life of me, can’t figure out why I’m mentioning strange, non-existent drama titles. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Honestly, I’ve liked him in everything I’ve seen. BotWG was just horrible all around, story and direction.

    1
    1

You’re right, NJH’s acting in BotWG was that drama’s least problem. You can’t carry the show even when you’re the great actor when the writing was so shitty.

My first experience with NJH’s acting was in The Light In Your Eyes where he blew me away and broke my heart millions times, that’s why I didn’t understand why people had issues with his acting. Maybe I’m biased but I also liked him in his earlier dramas. And of course I totally fell for him after watching him in variety shows 😍

Tale of Nokdu
I finally got to watch the finale of Tale of Nokdu. I have to say I wish I’d love it more. On the papers it had everything I wanted – a decent writer, my favourite actor and actress in the main roles, a wacky premise that sounded great…

I think I was most disappointed the story went into a serious sageuk territory in the second half. I don’t know what bothered me most, but there were some editing issues where the scenes transited abruptly or awkwardly and the writing wasn’t the best after all. For instance I think Yool Moo would never let them live happily ever after – I was disappointed the writer resolved it with just letting them go and Yool Moo giving up on her. From what we’ve seen from him it didn’t make much sense.

I think blending two genres together brought some jarring moments – for example veteran actors (the king, the ministers, the queen) all acted their hearts out – like they were in the true pure sageuk drama whereas young actors tried to do both serious and cute acting, thus their acting felt a little off or not on par with their senior actors. I think I felt the same about Moonlight Drawn by Clouds (it’s from the same writer after all). If I had to use numbers, I’d rate the drama 7/10.

The best thing about the drama was Jang Dong Yoon – he’s finally getting all the recognition he deserves. I bet we’ll be seeing him a lot from now on. I also think Kim So Hyun at last found her onscreen match in Jang Dong Yoon – she’s never looked better or felt more natural with anybody else. Also a special shoutout to Kang Tae Oh (Yool Moo) who I never watched before but who left a good impression on me. Especially the last scene with him sitting on the throne with his crazy eyes and smirk gave me chills.

Just watched it! Yup, I share your impressions: I really enjoyed the fluffy first half and the turn into darkness, but just wasn’t feeling it when everything came to a head in ep. 15… And I usually love sword fights, but in this case, mmmm, no. I guess the blame is on the mix of writing and editing, the intense emotional encounters in the middle of a palace battle just didn’t work for me. Besides, the king’s single-mindedness, Moo Yul giving up so easily, and also Nokdu’s brother redemption arc (when his betrayal was hard to believe in the first place) seemed not well justified. The finale was really sweet, and I appreciated that they brought back the lovely secundaries from the first half, but it also felt a bit perfunctory. Now that you’ve said that it is from the same writer as MDbC it all makes sense to me, because I felt exactly the same thing about that drama: beautifully shot, sweet, with charming leads, but a bit too light for my taste

The Smile Has Left Your Eyes
vs
The Light In Your Eyes

I guess I have a thing for dramas with “Your Eyes” in the title?

Can they stop asking this question? Do they really think anyone’s going to say yes? I can imagine one of older actors (Gong Yoo, So Ji Sub, Jo In Sung) making fun of this question as they’re veterans now and are more comfortable during interviews but nobody from Nam Joo Hyuk’s age group would dare to say yes, right?

Nah, I’d heard of him but never saw him in anything until I watched Shut Up: Flower Boy Band in 2016, and I recognized how incredible and magnetic he was in that role, and I also liked him when I watched Spellbound not long after, but it wasn’t until Because This Life is Our First that this madness began.
