If you ignore all the cute chance encounters they had, Dinner Mate’s OTP relationship is so realistic, in the best way. They’re both adults who are serial long-term daters, who have been deeply hurt, so they made up some no-string-attached relationship to date-but-not-date. Then, because it’s a drama and we deserve magic, we have all this additional coincidences that make the relationship feel like destiny. I love it!
Second leads’ stories are still going nowhere good. I can see the writer wanting us to sympathize with them, but I just can’t.
Their chemistry is pleasant and mature. I like how they actually *talk* with each other, and about their own thoughts and feelings. They didn’t even have to talk about the other boring stuff like their jobs, or their family drama (though that would come soon, I’m sure!) And the development of their attraction also feels very organic and adult-like: from a puzzling passerby situation to an implicit acknowledge of each other’s charm and attractiveness, to explicit acknowledgment that they enjoy each other’s company and want to meet more.
So true, loved how deep their talks are! It’s lovely that both are consoled and guided by these conversations. And omg, that ending, I can’t wait for the next episode! (Keep saying this since the first ep, hahaha.)
This series is so binge-worthy. If it were already complete, I’d have panda eyes by now. Just strap me to my chair, surround me with snacks and I’ll see you in three days.
