Beanie level: Eunuch in drag

It’s been 3 months since I last checked in here, but hello! Since then I’ve watched Radio Romance and currently watching The Great Seducer and Suits. Wonder if I’ve missed any dramas worth watching?

I’m Not A Robot had the cutest, fluffiest end. They’re all so adorable, I was smiling until my face hurt. Everything wrapped up nicely, but I’m going to miss my weekly dose of these joyful humans.

Also finished Kill Me, Heal Me. Like Ji-sung\’s character, the drama was captivating, flawed, and all over the place–there was romance, comedy, action, melodrama, abuse/trauma all in one. Loved it.

Finished Jugglers! It was adorable and hilarious! It’s not the most original drama but manages to make the most of what otherwise would be flat, stock characters and a predictable plot.

Episode 27 of I\’m Not A Robot was just so lovely. I loved how our couple was just talked in a heartfelt, honest, understated, and natural way for majority of the episode.

Finally started Kill Me, Heal Me this week, already 80% done. I wasn’t sure at first with the chaebols, family secrets, and Hwang Jung-eum’s screaming, but it won me over. Plus, Ji-sung is magnetic.

Ohhh! One of my favourites! Enjoy~~

Ji Sung was awesome in this! Having slayed all of his characters. Shin Se Gae and Yoona were my favorites. 😂😂😂😂

I loved Shin Se-gi so much, forever one of my favorite characters ❤😭

OH MY GOODNESS. The ending of this week\’s episodes of I\’m Not A Robot. aaaahhh I can\’t wait for next week. I hope the drama is not trolling us. They sometimes do that. So cruel.

The credits of today\’s Knowing Bros episode played \”End of a Day\” by Jonghyun instead of the latest Kpop hit or whatever they usually play. It caught me off guard. The song is so beautiful TT

Anybody see news about a Korean remake of Suits? As someone who watched the original, I\’m both excited and uncertain about how they will adapt this!

    Yes!!
Park Hyung Sik has been cast as the Korean equivalent of Mike Ross, and he recently concluded the filming of his short movie “Two Lights: Relumino” and is doing his rounds of promos for it, but once he’s done the promos and after the New Year passes, I think he will go right into filming =)

I think he can do a good job. I’ve liked him in other roles. Hopefully, he can pull it off well. I’m more worried about Harvey, since he’s a character with such a strong personality and has this vibe that somehow feels uniquely corporate America. I’m curious how they’ll translate that into a Korean setting, especially given the different legal systems and company culture.

We’ll have to wait and see!! But since Jang Dong Gun has been cast as the Korean equivalent of Harvey, there’s no doubt that at least the acting ability to uphold such an iconic character will be present =)

I was excited to discover Korean variety shows on Netflix, but all the music is replaced with some cheesy stock music & singing parts cut completely (due to licensing?). So disappointing TT

And so many of the songs in the Answer Mes on Netflix were changed as well. Very disappointing. Yay for things being on Netflix for more people to access, nay for licensing issues that come along with it. 😢

Oh man. That’s really disappointing. I did see someone mention in a review on Netflix that the Korean dramas all had terrible music but I just thought it was maybe due to their tastes (OSTs are usually pretty great). Man, I was really excited thinking I could watch more properly licensed stuff, but this makes me just want to watch fansubs TT

It’s been a while dramaland but I’m back! Started Jugglers and I’m Not A Robot, and about to catch up on Smart Prison Living. That’s probably already too many to keep up with but…oh well. 😀

I had laser eye surgery so everything was a bit blurry but now I can read subtitles again! REJOICE!

I have recently considered getting this. But the fear is real!

It is nice to wake up and not put on glasses. But obviously, I didn’t NEED the surgery. It’s just nice and convenient. And although it’s expensive, I save a bit long-term instead of getting lots of contacts and glasses (my prescription is really bad so my glasses/contacts tend to be more expensive). I was really scared but it was surprisingly quick and painless. Your eyes feel a bit uncomfortable the first couple days (like a dry contact lens) but it’s been okay for me personally.

Good to hear it went really well and that the results are positive.

Wearing glasses and/or contacts can be a pain. Especially when you don’t know where you laid your glasses and can’t see well enough to find them again!! Haha. No more worries for you on that end.

Hahaha you seem to have your priorities in order 😛 *seeing traffic properly?* *reading prices at the grocery store?* *no no the most important thing is subtitles!* *jk* *I get you :P*
Congrats on getting good vision back!

Thank you! 😀 I mean, I love books and buying groceries, but subtitles.. 😀 LOL

Luckily my family has been very helpful during my recovery: “Mom I have no food at home and I can’t see well. How will I go to the store?!” *Mom comes over, brings me food*

Aw that’s great! What a sweet mom you have 😀 Family is the best ^^

Waiting for Prison Playbook aka Smart Prison Living to be added to Netflix is so painful. Originally it was to be released on Nov 28. D: Trying to stick with legal, properly licensed subs is hard…

I\’m so happy and sad about While You Were Sleeping final. The kisses, our Woo-Tak, Mr Choi, that Kim So-hyun cameo, and of course our leads… I\’ll miss it but I feel good about the end.

Also, I haven\’t been on dramabeans in so long (I was sidetracked by the 2017 drama slump and binge-watching Stranger Things), but when did we get a db shop!?

To follow up on my last post: although While You Were Sleeping\’s plot twist is rather convenient it is SO GOOD. Also, the future dreams thing is all over of the place, so who cares about consistency.

Yes who cares right? 😆 Definitely not me coz the other, more important parts make up for it. Is this what they call “love is blind”? 😍😍
