it’s so so good. Have you watch it?

Yeah I did and indeed it’s a great story.

The writers is the one who pen another good miniseries, Individualist Jin Young. Only 2 episode. But it’s so so good. #Bad Families is also penned by her, another KBS Special drama from 2017. It’s hillarious and different compare to #dancingthewaltzalone. I’m waiting the day this writers wrote her own drama in a prime time slot

A beautiful, yet sad story of people in the throes of breaking up.

    2
    1

This is real life not the drama-like love that survives anything and everything thrown at it.

      2
      1

Right? I just love the reality they depict. Not sugarcoat everything. At times, we need a story like this to remind us, not all people can handle their problem decently.

        2
        1

yeah and what I liked most is that we couldn’t fault any of them for the choices they made (except him walking on when she collapsed, I dunno what to think about that lol) it’s a matter of survival for both of them and we can’t but root for them. My heart broke when they both were rendered into tears by the end 🙁

Well that job interview is like live and death for both of them. They already jobless for too long. She doesn’t give him the the assurance of supporting him. Prove at the night of their confrontation after they supposed dating, and vice versa. They are on the verdge of desperation to find a job. And since this is their supposed final interview, he can’t give up something in front of him just to save her. In the process he regret it though.

Please, how can I get past the characters limited number of 200? I see some posts that are paragraphs long!!!

I don’t if it was intended this way, or faulty subtitles but I was confused about many things while watching If We Were a Season. Why did she tell him no when she obviously had feelings for him?

I was so frustrated with that special! I wanted to beat the writer into the ground!!

For a good cry, try “What’s The Ghost Up To?”

I’ve just finished Dancing the Waltz Alone. Now moving on to What’s the Ghost U to? seems like a sad night tonight lol

I don’t know if it’ll change your mind about the drama special, but see my comment below!

For a second there I was certain this was that scene from TLAHL and got mighty confused by the faces and uniforms 😛

I’ve always been meaning to see TLAHL but never did!

The way I see it, it’s linked to her discovery of her dad’s affair. To her, her dad is constant presence she trusted and never questioned, and the affair was a rude shock to that. So she was afraid of yet another relationship that she unquestioningly comes to rely on (her friendship with Kiseok) crumbling under a change (from friendship to romance).

Of course, rejecting him did change their friendship. But that’s where Kiseok’s growth comes in, he decides to be there for her in the way she needs, and not the way he wants (i.e. to be her boyfriend).

That’s why there’s the sequence of the red thread at the end. I don’t know if you know about the East Asian myth of the red thread of fate, but it’s said that two people who are fated to be together are tied to each other with a red thread. This story suggests that it’s not all up to fate, though: like Kiseok, you can symbolically tie back a thread that had gotten broken by reaching out to that person again.

Well put *thumbs up* I did figure it had something to do with her father’s affair and him saying I couldn’t help it. But later I didn’t know if she was using her father’s words just to throw Kiseok off or if it really triggered something in her vis-a-vis the other boy.
The fact that he gave her a warm hug at the end just as she wanted suggests that their love is still to be continued.. I wouldn’t mind seeing them again 🙂

      1
      2

I think it was just easier for her to let herself believe her father’s words, because then she wouldn’t have to face the affair as an active choice that her father made. We never really know if she went on to date Dongkyung, but we do see that she was straining to rationalise her decision to not meet Kiseok that day when he was going to confess.

Oops I clicked post too fast ^^” I actually loved the semi-open ending. It’s pretty amazing how it fleshes out that detail of Haerim telling Kiseok she likes this kind of ending. It’s not just like “Oh, he cares enough to remember something small like that”, but I think ties to something deeper about Haerim’s worldview that Kiseok was able to detect.

The drama special was only an hour, so an unambiguously happy ending in which they end up together would’ve felt like it closed the story. But with that hug and Haerim going away, it’s like the story is continuing even after the credits roll, and I love it when a storyworld is treated as though it were larger than what the viewers see.

Didn’t watch the drama, nor the heels, but this reminds me that every time I’m at the hospital, every *single* time, I always see at least one doctor in super uncomfortable-looking heels. It baffles me all the time, I can’t even imagine how they must feel at the end of the day!

    1
    1

I sure know they feel terrible by the end of the day! I sometimes teach in heels. I stand up for 3-4 hours by the end of it I’m swearing off heels LOL imagine making rounds and walking around all day long 😮

This drama was SO FUNNY! The scene were they take a moment to examine Rain’s choco abs, and then peer down his pants to see how much he was blessed there?

    And then there were tears.
(not because of what was in Rains pants. Thats ridiculous.)

It cracked me up when he started complaining about not being able to go to sauna because he’s choco abs would melt hehehe

Have you watched anything by Playlist Studio? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWh7Y7qan9WNxXOucn15O3A

Love Playlist (S1 & 2) and Seventeen are good, but you should skip Yellow. I haven’t checked out Flower Ever After yet.

I watched The Boy Next Door (on youtube) with Choi Woo Shik and Jang Ki Young. It’s a spoof kdrama (15 episodes of 5-6 minutes) and probably the funniest thing I’ve seen all year.

It’s about two guys who – through a set of hilarious kdrama tropes – keep ending up in situations that makes everybody around them think they’re a gay couple. Hint: there’s a lot of falling over!

I laughed so much I scared my cat. And maybe the neighbours

    2

I did too! Though I don’t have a cat so no scaring nothing lol but yeah I love this one ^^

When in episode 14 (?) they have that song and the ‘romantic’ flashbacks, I laughed so hard I felt sick. Plus those wristgrabs… It was just brilliant.

        1

and the countless compromising positions they find themselves in LOL I liked Choi Woo Shik he was so cute ^^

You can try WE ARE PEACEFUL BROTHERS. It has bok nam from BTIOFL and the elder brother is hot too. It’s only around 4-5 minutes long for 15 episodes. it’s there on youtube.

My friend who is a Japanime & jdrama avid fan is a newly K-drama convert. I lured her in with offering her a flash drive stoked on INAR fufufu What should I recommend her next? She loves comedies.

    non-romantic comedy: Chief Kim
Rom-coms: Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-jo, Shopping King Louis, or High School King of Savvy are really good

I’ve found that J-drama comedies and K-drama comedies are quite different from each other–Chief Kim might come closest. Having said that, @Jig suggestions are pretty much what I would recommend.
