HTCCC Ep 6 That concert – I haven’t had such a hearty laughter for a long while! This is really a story of the village folks.

Im an introvert born-raised-living in a Capital city, yet if theres a folk festival like this (school’s festival; independence day festival; neighborhood christmas celebration; or any low bugdet festival, really) ive always be the one having the most fun 🤣. Seriously miss this atmosphere. 😫😫

    Still don’t understand why Halmoni didn’t get a prize… 🙁

I’ll vote her above the grocery store owner anytime!

Ep 3 of HTCCC has smoothed out the edges into the swoony territory. The light bulb moment (literally) is some wonder romcom moment that I haven’t seen in a long while.

I was smiling the whole episode and the ending was just the perfect level of cheese. Now I can’t get the “La la la” song out of my head.

I may be the last one knowing this but just in case … Roy Chiu’s A Man in Love and Dear Ex are both available in Netflix. Yippee!!

Yes!!! Having watched both, I pick Dear Ex over MIL as the superior film. In DE, Roy really gets to show his entire range, and how. If you want to peddle a film to prospective Roy fans, Dear Ex is it.

I have seen Dear Ex when it was first released – love it to bits. It’s a piece showcasing why he should be respected as an actor, not just a handsome face.

With it available on Netflix, I can rewatch it as many times as I like!!! Need to get into the right mood, though, to see When A Man in Love.

Indeed! I had watched Roy before in dramas (Office Girls, Marry Me, Arc of Life, and even his bit part in YJGS), but in Dear Ex, he was truly a revelation. It made me re-evaluate him, only to conclude that he is one of the best acting talents in Asia right now.

I now desperately want to watch him in a drama with a good script and good production so that we can watch him for at least 16 hours on the screen haha.

(His recent cdrama – My Treasure – was not something I could sit through unfortunately, though some folks enjoyed it).

Yoo Ah-in’s Voice of Silence – I recall a kind Beanie shared earlier that it would become available soon on Viki or IQiyi or Netflix. Would anyone know which platform and from when please?

How does this happen?? Monthly Magazine Homes Ep 1&2 was a 5/10 drama for me and I was pondering to drop it….but Ep 3 is 8/10! It has charm and heart although the last scene is probably a tease.

I’m glad to know this, because I’ve started watching ep 2 twice now and still haven’t finished. This gives me hope!

Ep 4 is fantastic too. Now it’s a week of waiting for Ep 5.

Thank you for posting this. Ariel Lin is a favorite of mine and the story is poignant. Of course, it references IT STARTED WITH KISS, still one of the best screen versions of ITAZURA NA KISS.

DDSSLLS Ep 15 is aweeeeee.

Never thought I’d say that but I love Jun’s mum. Her emotion and care for her son is so palpable.

Then, the reveal of the DDSSLLS backstory is so, so, so lovely!!

DDSSLLS – when was the first time Jun met Ra-ra?

Just read that it was the day when she bumped into the stalker in Seoul and Jun was in that cafe when Ra-ra couldn’t find her wallet. See below.

You could see Jun in the right handside in Ep 9 after 57:00 and there are other BTS photos that he was there in that location shooting. Looking forward to the reveal. He’s born to be her loanshark.

didn’t he 1st see her during the recital

The new theory is Jun met her long before the recital – because the intense look Jun had when taking photo of his best friend and Ra-ra is much more than a love at first sight. Then some fans noted the scene in Ep 9 around 57:00 and the pair of glasses the person has is the one Jun has on his desk at Seoul home. There are also BTS photos of Jun in that cafe filming.

The time when Ra-ra was still a student bumping into the stalker – she then went to a cafe realising her wallet was lost, see my post above.

DDSSLLS Ep 11 is love!

Totally not expecting such a beautiful episode blending past and present. The reunion of Kim Bok-man and his girlfriend reminds me the ending of Comrade, Almost A Love Story.

DDSSLLS – Just finished all the available episodes including Ep 8. I really like it and there’s something very pure and sweet about it. It’s a fine balance that’s difficult to achieve. More below.

In the hands of a less skilled director or actors, it will be cringe-worthy but it’s just RIGHT here.

Does the ‘age’ thing bothering? Not for me and this issue has been set up from Ep 1 as the main conflict – with Jun’s half a second hesitation when saying to Ra-ra he’s 24 too. He’s however such a mature person that the mere 4 or 5 years difference will become nothing over time.

Go Ara may not be the best actress out there but she’s absolutely lovely here that you can’t help but root for her. What can I say about Lee Jae-wook? He injects credibility into every role he plays and he might grow to be the best actor of his generation.

We are now at the half way point and as a viewer, I just wish it doesn’t falter in the second half because it has been sweetly winning so far in everything.

Personally, I find the age thing disturbing, but knowing that the show receives much love from other Beanies makes me feel glad. The show is lovely, never cringe-worthy and very refreshing. It makes me feel like reliving the olden days again when there seemed to be no evil in the world and everyone loved one another.

Poor dr.Cha, I was literally heartbroken for him being turned down that fast. 😢

The show is also successful in the sense that it made me listen to instrumental pieces now. I am always amazed by how well the actors playing Ra-ra, dr.Cha and Jae-min play piano. They look like they are great at playing piano in real life!

#FoS S2 Finale
It’s a heavy watch as my heart hurts and sinks – but great to see some nice human touches. Most importantly, the gauntlet has been laid for a S3!

I just rewatched Ep 10-12 of FoS2 and got the reward of noting the seeds planted here and there about what’s to happen in Ep 14 (and 15 too, I think).

The significance is not about the lighter but what is WTH doing in that scene. He is visiting the place where SDJ was kidnapped, checking out the blood stain – and the surround of that neighbourhood. And with a faint smile. This might just be the only scene in the whole drama when he is ‘in the field’. You’ve got to ask why.

Then when the fake witness got round up by HYJ and her cop crew after they broke his lie – he made some vague remarks to HSM, not dissimilar to the final scene of Ep 14.

This drama is made for rewatch.

Sorry, I chopped out the first sentence of the above post which reads “Much has been said about WTH’s green lighter”.

Yes, the fake witness obviously thought all of the prosecution was on the same page.

Sad that it’ll be ending next week but it’ll be an interesting rewatch pointing out clues.

I can’t breathe through out the whole episode. Not expecting the puzzle within puzzle. The wait for the final episodes will be excruciating.
