Little Women Ep 12 Finale – It ends well but leaves such a big hole in me. What am I going to watch next??? Otokke!

Re-watch is a must as there is still so much to unpack. A few immediate thoughts:

    – I love how 30 minutes are spared in this episode for closures. Not your usual a neat bow and happy ever after which will be so inconsistent with the whole storytelling. It is the emotional closures, and the sense of seeking calmness after the storm. There’s sufficient coverage of the three sisters though not being together. They are like us as audience experiencing that void but on the recovery journey.
    – It’s been said so many times – but the writing, directing, acting, music and cinematography are all a joy to watch. The sense of void is so intensely felt as credits roll because I don’t know when will a drama of this calibre come again.
    – While everyone is playing A game but Uhm Ji-won’s portrayal here is seriously performance of the year. The chill she sends down our spine while maintaining that half innocent, half wickedness demeanor is really quite something.
    – I love, love the three sisters’ growth. They are essentially the same persons in the final episode but a bit wiser and very importantly, know better now what they’d value most and family remains their bedrock. The flashback in the last 30 minutes is really well done.
    – What a pleasant surprise that ‘Jo’ and ‘Laurie’ have a happy ending.
    – And, how can I get that musical score out of my head???

“Directed by woman, written by woman with women as protagonists, main villain, and mastermind. I’m so proud as a woman. Thank you, Little Women!!”

This comment at YT is so true. All the men in this drama are sitting in the backseats.

Little Women Ep 10 – Wow, wow, wow, what a spectacular episode! My mind is still twirling to make sense of everything in this episode. The final countdown next week – bring it on!

Little Women Ep 2
Two episodes in and I have no doubt in mind that this will shape up to be the best drama of the year. It’s shot like a movie with plots, emotions, visuals firing up in full cylinder

Wow, there is tough competition in that category so let’s see if the viewer ratings and buzz reflect this. As someone watching through weecaps I will be interested to follow along for the ride.

EAW Ep 16. I’m pleased at the deceptively simple way they wrapped the many different threads through a case, just like any other episodes. We didn’t see the case coming but it’s a Big Bang hit right

Yes, atty Woo often came up with unconventional ways to solve other people’s problems and the episodes flowed nicely. I’m glad and relieved that in the final episode things worked out well for her because after all her problems were not of her own making in the least (i’m looking at you, bad mom).
It was interesting that the writers threw in a younger brother in the last episode and although I was worried his story might seem rushed , his presence didn’t interfere like I thought it might. Two genius siblings how cool! I am also cheering hugely for Attorney Jung-it’s never too late to see yourself as you are and make changes for the good! Plus he’s so darn cute 🥰

The brother is not a new device though. He was mentioned very early on by the mom as spending too much time on computer. It’s a plot line set up from the beginning which I appreciate.

Thats true, we knew bad mom had a son. I like that his part didn’t feel rushed even though his part was all in the last episode.

I quite like in Ep 15 she walked into the son’s room to say delightfully that she’s home early today, let’s eat together. It’s a few second scene but sheds light on the kind of mom she is and could be.

I felt that only some of the plotlines were wrapped up, and many others were left dangling and unresolved. It will be a long wait to see what happens in season 2, but worth it.

It’s difficult to say goodbye to My Liberation Notes but feel blessed to have this drama coming along to refresh our mind on things that matter.

A big thankyou to Park Hae-young, cast and crew!!!

My Liberation Notes #Ep 11 – what have I done to deserve this breathtakingly beautiful episode! I can rewatch it again and again.

But Ep 12 looks alarming. Will get a good drink before starting it.

My Liberation Notes – I just can’t get enough. Every line and every scene is so wonderfully yet subtly made, with no fanfare but soul piercing. I smile and tear up simultaneously all along.

It’s like going through a mind cleansing spa therapy. All those main and side characters – the good, bad and ugly – are so real as if they are people I know in my own life.

While I started this drama because of Park Hae-young who wrote My Ajusshi, I only realise now the PD is Kim Seok-yoon. This writer-PD combo had previously produced one of my all time favourites – I Live in Cheongdam-dong which is a 100+ ep sitcom back in 2011. Unfortunately, no full Eng sub is available and I watched the C-sub version back then. Both of them have this unique lens about human nature and we are into a treat again with MLN.

Our Blues – I love how the Han-soo & Jun-hee arc ends most sensibly, full of humility! It’s not an easy watch to start with but very satisfying in the end.

I had to look aside and do other things because there were moments in which everything was too painful, but I loved it.

My Liberation Notes Ep 4 – the ending is nothing short of amazing, leap and bound physically and emotionally!

So good. I wish I could binge the whole drama now. I’m sitting watching it and thinking, “why am I loving this so much?”
    The Liberation Club
    The individual angst
    The everyday sameness
    The countryside
    The plainspeaking
    The kookiness
    I love everything about it.

Business Proposal Ep 10

I love, love Ha-ri’s confession – one clean swoop clearing any doubts and miscommunication. So refreshing! Well done, girl, and I wish more FLs act like you.

No wonder Ji-woong is channeling the constipated and ‘not to be found until death’ vibe of Andrew Lincoln. Just wondering if this inspires the video concept.

OBS Ep 13 – Love Actually.

😂😅 i googled Andrew and he’s the guy in Love Actually!

Have you seen OBS Ep 13 which is entitled Love Actually?

I have. I was really excited with Begin Again and LA cos finally it was a movie I recognised and enjoyed. I also like Ji Woong and his struggles, tho like some beanies said I can’t for the life of me understand why he’s so hung up on a girl he’s barely seen the last five years. That’s why i laughed at the “constipated vibe”

Our Beloved Summer Ep 11-12 is love!!

If one more reason to love OSB more, the jujube-chestnut tribute to Coffee Prince takes the cake.

Our Beloved Summer Ep 8 – tantalizing!

I can’t recall the last romance that is as well done as this – the simplicity and complexity of two people in love. I tear up for those two throughout this Ep.

I normally don’t cry for love stories or romance(family dramas do that for me) but for this drama I’m frequently tearing up whenever Ung and Yeon su are having an intense scene. The looks they give each other!!

Exactly – the look they give each other.

Our Beloved Summer is certainly a drama I’ve been looking forward to but I have no idea what a beautiful piece it turns out to be. Six episodes in, the feel and the heartache are so real and deep.

I can’t recall the last romance drama that has the same spell on me. PWS and KDM are killing it. Love the sensual storytelling here to peel off one layer after another. We don’t know the real Yeon-su until her facade breaks in Ep 5. While Ung seems an open book but that breakup turns him to what he is now as we see in the epilogue in Ep 6. I tear up so many times in watching these latest episodes. Will rewatch while waiting for new episodes.
