Beanie level: Water maid

It’s almost 3 am here, and I have a really busy day ahead. Yet here I am, crying (more like sobbing and weeping actually) over this stupidly beautiful movie. My over sensitive self cannot handle this much pain.

I am looking forward to watching this one so I will come prepared.

I intentionally skipped reading your post yesterday cos I hadn’t finished the show, but now that I’ve finished it.. it’s such a beautiful film. I love that it is a simple story, very simple, but with beautiful execution. I feel like my heart is still a bit heavy after having finished it. But overall, for the purpose of avoiding spoiling others, I’d say it leaves a good impression on me.

I wanted to watch this one but all the beanie reactions have me scared! I can’t take a tearjerker right now…

(Furiously typing while pretending to listen to my lecturer) I’m addicted to Love Is For Suckers and Love In Contract. And I need a time machine. K bye! 🥲♥️

I share your excitement about these two shows, it’s been a while since I waited for new eps! Luckily, I’m not studying at the same time, though … you can do it, fighting!

This is so true! Hands down the best CP I’ve ever seen in dramaland.

Thanks to the recent Game Craters x HYBE episodes, this song is stuck in my head. I know this song is immensely popular, but as a person who don’t have any interest in K-pop (but cannot resist Na PD 😁), this came out as a pleasant surprise.

Yes! This is awesome! I like the little stories on why these songs speak to you. I’ll try to post more later today. I have a lot to do before I officially have my vacation week!

I\’ve got Dang-gu as my soulmate! Loyal, best friend, eternal lover… Of course he has to be fictional, no wonder I\’m so single 🥲

I got Yul! Does that mean I’m destined for Saeho Fortress (without knowing I’m going)? What a double-edged sword… The one guy who never admits he’s in love.

So I got the crown prince!!! I would have been happy with Yul or CP. 😂

I got Yul! I don’t think the r/ship would work out.

Alchemy of Souls is such a delight! Jung So-min is always a great actress, but all those young faces are steeling the show. I crave more interaction between Uk, Yul, Dong-gu (he’s got my heart 🥰) and crown prince. Their bromace and comedic timing is so good. I know for a fact that Hong sisters have a tendency to screw things up, but I have hope for this, and if they dare to mess up this adorable ship, I’m gonna flip! (They are my favourite 🥺)

The actor playing Dang gu is so good. I wish we had seen him in interviews along with the LJW, JSM, MinHyun, SSH

Every drama that airs right now doesn\’t interest me, not even Attorney Woo (I feel so shallow for not liking it, but what to do *sigh*), and decided to be brave (because fantasy is NOT my preferred genre) and started Alchemy of Souls in a whim. I like it! I feel this one can handle the incoming drama slump for a while, hopefully 🤞

I’m with you about Attorney Woo. I’m not interested in it but i feel so shallow. Attorney Woo sounds too good to be true for me, i can see it from how people talk about it, and i’m not into that kind of story for now.
I’m glad you’re liking Alchemy of Souls. I think this few months have been great for kdramas that even for someone who is in slump, like me, can find at least one drama to tune in to every week.

It is totally fine that you do not like what others find as good. We are all watching dramas for entertainment and so it is absolutely necessary that we spend time on something we enjoy rather than giving into peer pressure and forcing ourselves to watch something we are not in the mood for. We just had a recent discussion on a beanie’s fan wall where many dropped or watched a drama based on a character’s hair😂😂 Being shallow does not mean being wrong.

What should I sacrifice for Dramagods to have Lee Soo-hyok as the main lead in a rom-com? Or any drama where he\’s just the freaking lead?! He deserves more screen time than this!💔

    That’s a good question 🤔

Valid Love? he was the SL, but he has a lot of screen time and he was verrrrry good in this…

    0

Dramagods are too cruel to deny this man a leading role. Is he difficult to work with? Because I see no reason why a handsome guy with good acting skills and that voice can’t land a lead role.

    2
    0

He needs to leave whatever agency is managing him at the moment, because there’s absolutely no excuse for him to not be one of dramaland’s top leading men after all these years.

Recently, I’ve daydreamed of him and Kim Seul-gi starring in a romcom together. Bizarre, I know. But it’s a real one-two punch of these two great actors getting their due. Him as a stoic, serious author-type, her as the funny girl who’s the only one who can make him crack a smile. If this sounds way too detailed for a daydream, blame it on my fleeting attention span and the most boring job imaginable.

In conclusion, the world needs romcom Lee Soo-hyuk.

    1
    1

I’ve imagined him in a more sexier rom-com like Her Private Life, but I’d watch your daydream drama any time, any day! And yes to Kim Seul-gi too, she deserves way more attention than what she gets.

can we offer mbc as initial offerings or…?
I thought after DAYS, we will get a ML news but nope. Tomorrow had worse screen time than DAYS and I’m thoroughly disappointed.

After all the useless gun pointing mess that is Snowdrop, I desperately wanted to fill the Jung Hae-in-sized hole in my heart, so I started A Piece of Your Mind, expecting nothing but a less bloodied atmosphere. Man what a show that was. I finished it in two days, but couldn’t share my thoughts about it, because I’m still in denial that I’ve finished it. It shamelessly played with my heartstrings, made me cry, laugh, squeal, swoon, just in the span of 12 episodes. I’m really mad about the cut of 4 episodes, they rob me of more quality time between our precious leads (I can’t understand K-folks, I’ve given up on understanding them a very long time ago *sigh*). Chae Soo-bin shined as usual with her lovely and heartfelt acting, and besides JHI’s amazing acting chops, his lingering gazes were cherry on top. The AI concept was a little over the top and unrealistic (It was more like talking to a person’s soul or a ghost, not an AI) but it was just a little flaw that was necessary to the plot. The way our leads bond over their grief and pain reminded me of Just Between Lovers, which I adore so very much, and the poetic way the story flowed was truly mesmerizing. I have nothing bad to say about this drama except the episode cut (I won’t shut up about that, I’m fuming while typing this) and I hope writers and directors won’t hesitate to make more dramas like this. We don’t need more zombies or deadly games, we need comfort, dammit!

I’m still angry against TVN for that! JTBC would have not cut this drama!

The theme of mourning is not an easy one but they did great.

JTBC managed to air Snowdrop till the end. They definitely would’ve aired all the episodes *sighs again*

APOYM was an extremely pretty and nice drama 😚 I almost dropped it on ep 2 because I was horrified by the AI and the death scene in the snow, but then I read some good comments here on DB and ended up loving this weird little drama. You’re right, it’s no so much about the story, it’s all about the sweetness and the characters’ healing. I find it really telling that it’s already been 2 years, and I remember it perfectly, whereas I can’t remember stuff about dramas I’m watching right now 😂
Cha Sobin and Jung Haein are really great individually, and they had such a sweet chemistry. Also loved the found family at Eunjoo’s house, so cute!

😊 I don’t know if it’s pandemic fatigue or just the usual winter quiet that gives way to more me time sort of thing, but comfort anything is seriously high on my list right now when I try to decide what to do with this seasonal precious spare time.

Never been in a relationship, so obviously never been on the receiving end of a breakup, but why does Our Beloved Summer always hit so hard?! I\’m an emotional wreck after the end of an episode, and can\’t wait till the next.

I can see how their personalities create push-pull tension, but also there was (is) a trust between them that they shouldn’t let others influence. Besides, they look good together.

The leads have really elevated the script. It’s hard to imagine another combination that would do justice to that last scene of episode 6 like they did.

Feels like it’s been ages since I last watched a K-drama. School is eating me up alive, but now I’ve got two weeks of break (but with tons of assignments T_T), so I’m planning to catch up with The Red Sleeve Cuff and already started Our Beloved Summer (which by the way, I loved the first two episodes). And I saw on the Fan wall that the 2021 Round-Up is going strong, and I’m planning to lurk there and read them as much as possible (but sadly no time to post anything, my workload is staring at me, making judgmental eyes). Anyways, happy holidays and happy watching Beanies! (Off to lurk and stalk)

I sat down, thought about everything, and came down to a conclusion. No more hard feelings for any celebrity, not anymore. My mental health is way important than what Oppa dose when he\’s not acting 🙂

It’s important to have those boundaries. Actors play characters. They are real people, warts and all. We can’t live through them, or pin our sense of well-being on them. They tell stories that can make us feel good. It’s easy to find a bubble in the stories they spin that shield us from rl. They give us an escape and happy endings. They project ideal love. It’s hard to keep that boundary in operation when the spell they cast is so enticing. Stay strong.
