I tried to figure out who has the license for Pretty Noona. Did some digging over at Viki & Mydramalist. Rumour had it that Netflix was getting it—which would have sucked royally. Seems like DramaFever has it and it will be listed as Something in the Rain. You can find the link for the show page here. I’m hoping this is true because Netflix would have caused a 1 weeks delay in subs and say what you will about DF, they tend to get their translations out in a timely manner.

Don’t know why the link in the post is not working. I’ll just put the full link here.

Thanks for the info! That is a relief.

Wow, DramaFever has been getting alllll the shows I’m interested in lately. Which is weird because a few months ago it was all Viki. Kinda sucks because I feel like I’m wasting my money subscribing to both sites at one time lol.

Kocowa, and by extension Viki, is KBS, MBC, SBS (the national public broadcasters). jtbc is cable, so DramaFever and Netflix have a higher chance of getting it.

It’s weird because sometimes it’s… not? Like Just Between Lovers was on Viki.

And then I don’t even know what tvN is doing. Mother was in both Viki and DramaFever and Hwayugi was on Netflix and Viki and Because This Life is Our First was on Viki but now My Ajusshi is on DramaFever. And then they have the Netflix-only shows like Live and Prison Playbook.

        IT’S SO CONFUSING.

Just Between Lovers is a jtbc drama. My Ajusshi, Live, Mother, Hwayugi, and Because This Life Is Our First are all tvN dramas. Save Me and That Man Oh-soo/Evergreen are OCN dramas. tvN, OCN, and jtbc are cable channels.

As it stands–and as I understand it–the national networks will more than likely be on Viki/Kocowa. KBS, MBC, and SBS came together in a super shady way and created Kocowa as an online platform to air and distribute their dramas. Think of it in the same way HBO does HBO go, and how Disney is pulling their library from Netflix and setting up their own online platform. The cable channels are generally up for grabs. Anybody can get it given that they’re willing to pay for it etc. Having said that, Netflix does co-productions sometimes as it’s currently doing with That Man Oh-Soo and OCN. Netflix does their “Originals” as with Prison Playbook and tvN.

I wish Netflix would have just a Korean drama section. Just because titles differ and it would be easier to search.

Dang, I was looking forward to turning all the inmates into drama addicts.

Haha I was looking forward to seducing a prison guard into sneaking in some fried chicken and beer.

Haha! My orange- is-the-new-black-as-a- kdrama girls are here! @mindy @kiara I can’t say I won’t still be in jail as I’ve been sucked in with LIVE which won’t be on US Netflix for weeks! Although, it would be ironic as I’m watching a cop show on another site and Prison Playbook on Netflix. At least I have a before and after picture of criminal behavior to emulate! Lol!

Thanks for sharing. I admit I’m not overly excited about Pretty Noona but so many beanies being excited makes me not want to miss out. I’m glad DF is getting shows although I do prefer Viki.

I don’t like when Netflix gets OCN or tvN dramas because I’m in the U.S. and episodes aren’t uploaded weekly but at least Netflix puts up the dramas as soon as they are finished airing. With jtbc dramas, you never know. US Netflix can get them relatively quickly or it can take months. Last time I checked, they still didn’t have Age of Youth 2.

I hope this is true and not a fakeout. I remember DF had a page for Entourage but they never did get that drama…anyway I’ve been wondering about this too as I’m excited for this premiere!

    Dramafever actually pays their subbers.

I dunno about anyone else, but I’m in North America and the show still comes up as ‘coming soon.’

Dramafever has a page for it but no episodes or information… I’m not sure if they’ll upload the episodes while the drama is airing, but I hope they do.

    Thanks!
Thought getting VPN would keep my addiction under control, but this is way too stressful. I sure hope I won’t have to get netflix too. Goodness.

Naw, you could use any of the other websites. Many of them already have the RAWs up. Having said that, you should try to do legal if you can as it helps support the community.

Not interested in RAW videos nor in shady websites, I’d rather suffer through annoying ads instead. If that’s any consolation.
