Starting off with DO SAN: finally, the writer has shed us some light on what is his deal?! Growing up with low self-esteem is really, really difficult. 😔 I truly know and felt what DS have been through. Easier said than done, overcoming this issue is extremely difficult. People around DS adored him because he is the genius one and as a child, one doesn’t want to disappoint these people. But the same people aren’t interested on WHAT, HOW he feels in “winning” it. I think this is why it is important to be gentle with kids, if something is wrong we shouldn’t be approaching them with threats or whatnot. What difference would it be if DS was able to trust his parents when he was young and was able to be honest that time? It would be a BIG CHANGE — I think he’d be more confident about himself and in what he plans to do. But sadly and painfully, he had to carry those insecurities to adulthood. DS saying the line, “I totally forgot that I correctly answered 9 questions out of 10.” You don’t forget that DO SAN, you are EXCELLENT! So I am actually thankful for his great friends, Yong San and Chul San for giving tough but caring love to our DS! I am rooting for DS to be able to overcome things and what with the storm coming. 🙆♀️
Now, JIN PYEONG. Aw, he OFFICIALLY landed to SLS 😭🤧
It was bound to happen!!! That outburst with Halmeoni 😢😭🤧, is this why you cried for 13hours?!
Mad on why does he need to be the goodboy (read: ALWAYS SACRIFICING HIMSELF) but eventually BEING that goodboy that he is, led him to meeting Dal Mi in that beautiful cherryblossom street! 🌸
I am rooting that JP will be the one telling the WHOLE STORY to DM. Please just give him that, writernim! He deserves some beating but I believe, some heartfelt thanks too from DM. I just don’t want him to be the “dude-who-didnt-get-the-girl”!, HE SERIOUSLY IS MORE THAN THAT! 🤧 I would like to believe that he felt jealous because he was never given the credit on how awesome he made this LetterDoSan who is actually living a great life with DM 🙈
Overall, I just want them 3 to overcome this issue so we can resume the bickering and bromance between JP/DS WITHOUT WORRIES!!
And we need to delve more into the other issues of this show: Injae and her company, that lurking revenge person, Mom possibly applying for Halmeoni’s business (urgh I hate Mom), I think Alex is interesting too and many more!!

I think Mom deserves the hate? Haha. I panicked a little when there’s the possibility that she would live eventually with Halmeoni and Dalmi, because that’s how good hearted Halmeoni is and how shameless Mom is 🤔🙈
Hmm, I also agree with @mmmmm emoji for the characters here. The mom is so opportunistic and so gross with how she flaunts her wealth. She’s like living in La La Land with her obliviousness to money. How did Dad ever marry and have children with someone like her???!
Is Halmoni really that good natured though? She’s the one who started the lie, and it effected everyone else. While her intentions are good, the way she dismissed JP’s feelings for DM was just nope…and the way she wants to continue the lie despite the cost to DM in the long term.
I also hate Mom as well! She’s just UGH. Her tacky fashion taste and wearing all these designer goods and flaunting it, EWW! She’s the “Hey cool kids, how you doin’!” meme come to life lol. I didn’t like her when she was in the room on the phone, and the maids were in the background cleaning up. Or the scene in Ep 9, when she says to someone who actually needs a job to go find it elsewhere. She could just sell her LV/Birkin. At least give those scenes to In-jae, cause she needs more characterization rn. She’s coming across as a cold and privileged rich woman.
Han Ji-pyeong: I never ever had 2nd lead syndrome, altho he feels like the main lead sometimes. But wow, I’ve SLS here and it hurts BADLY!! Ep 8 and afterwards got me thinking, and honestly his character and really KSH himself has stolen my heart <3 I hate that its implying that he's going to sacrifice himself for Dal-mi's happiness in spite of his. Just a tragic character overall, always doing the most for everyone but getting paid in dirt at the end :((
I don’t care for the mom character, I wish they did it like Into the Ring, and sometimes realize that parents are toxic and should be cut out if you feel so. I’m sensing a reunion, gags. I mean, she left her daughter/not in contact with her for decades?! And now she wants to talk, give me a break woman.
At least give her silly scenes over to In-jae, who hasn’t been given much characterization despite an interesting subplot…
As for SLS: I didn’t feel it until Ep 8 (Which was ideally HJP centric episode), but really it was in Ep 6 when he said all these amazing technical terms and advice to Samsan Tech and SDM. It was super hot ngl lol. He looked uber confident, and altho it may’ve been frank, he was staying helpful/inspiring words to them. KSH better get a nomination at the Baeksang’s Best New Actor TV category for this role!!!
Ugh esp. Ep 10. Like listen its good that you finally realized what your deceased husband said to you. But man, I rme’d hard seeing her try to get back into that household despite leaving with her other daughter/cutting off contact with Dal-mi for over 10 yrs. Like that’s not something that can be repaired that easily, so shameless imo. At least give those scenes to In-jae!!
He really should! Every actor is doing a great job, but KSH as HJP is legit iconic imo! They say an actor makes the role iconic, and that’s what he’s doing here. If someone other than KSH played the role, I don’t think I’ll love him as much as I do. He better get that nomination/win for Start Up.
