Perhaps it is because of the times, but to me, our doctors from Hospital Playlist not only look great but look right in their scrubs and white coats.

Day 12 – The “oldie” (not 2020) you loved the most.

Yoo Na’s Street. Slice of life, not your normal crowd in some way, very much “normal” in the human sense.

All In. More interesting than the story were all the young faces from almost 19 years ago that we still see acting today.

And if you have even a slight fondness for melos, you should take a run at the grand (intentions anyway) Melos from the past like:

East of Eden
Cain and Abel
Thorn Birds
Something Happened in Bali

    Ah those melos of the past😂 My friend fell madly in love with Thorn Birds and made me watch it. I remember watching it transfixed waiting for the next insane twist to be thrown in and wondering why I’m not falling in love with it. There is melo, and then there is makjang melo!

    I love Yoona’s Street – a great slice of life about people living in the margin, very unusual story choice but wonderfully executed.

      Unusual choice indeed. I really enjoyed it! It seems to me that there are lots of territory on the margins of society that dramas could explore fruitfully.

Day 3 – That PPL a drama feels empty without.
Maxim coffee sticks. Especially watching older dramas, I’ve noticed people doing the maxim coffee stick ritual, whether at the office or at home. In recent dramas, I haven’t noticed this ritual. And, for some reason, I miss it. It would be like an older Japanese movie without a tea ceremony. Without the Maxim ritual, especially mixing the coffee with the envelope, something just seems missing

      Yes, that is the completed list. Being retired, in a lockdown, and taking care of family – which involves among other things watching dramas with them…leads to a lot of viewing.

      Hope you And all yours are safe and doing well.

        Yes, thanks. We’re all very well and managing well mostly at home. We no longer have a stringent lockdown, just restrictions in some businesses, gathering sizes etc, and so we’re free to roam within limits. If anything, most of us find that working from home makes us busier with less time for leisure, or work expects that we are available to get things done whenever. The demarcation between work and off-work time is blurred.

        Fortunately I’m not in that bad a situation, however, I’m still too busy to watch that many dramas. 😅 😬 😄

@mmmmm It turns out there are fresh water clams. The drama Forest had a *short* scene where the heroine finds fresh water clams in a forest pond of some kind. We who were watching Forest were desperate for something to comment on – the full story is in the comment threads under Forest recaps. And the clam threads still pop up, showing that the comments about zombie clams were prescient.

Well, I guess it would have to be like that ’cause I don’t think I can watch a show just for the sake of commenting if the show is THAT bad/ ridiculous. 😅😅😅
