          💯!!! Doesn’t PMR feel like it was written by someone who loves dramas and wanted to show there’s another way to construct them? Someone who wanted to prove watchability and entertainment don’t depend on dragging things out interminably.

            PMR feels like if someone who has only written KBS weekend drama their entire career suddenly being asked to write a miniseries, not 20, not 16 but 12 episodes which turns out.. works like magic!

      Literally they revealed a hint of something then characters find out the next 5 minutes. They’re concorde makjang at this point

      Such fun. Have a plot point. Solve it. Move on to next. Pack in as much as you can. No stretching the 2-3 plot points for the “entire” drama only to magically “solve” it 5 mins before rolling end credits.

Rewatched Love All Play last night because I need more Chae Jonghyeop (and smh personally for me… Castaway Diva lacks of… Oomph) and realized Park Juhyun should\’ve gotten more recognition for it

    I didn’t quite appreciate it when I watched it week by week probably because of the pace getting laggy on the 2nd half (what’s new) but I think Park Juhyun really breath life and dimension to her character which can easily be portrayed as self-pitying and borderline unreasonable character. She had SO many great scenes but particularly the one where she broke down after spending the night with Taejun saying “Thank you for loving me” BRUUUHH MY HEAAARRRTTTTT. I think this one’s Park Juhyun’s best project acting-wise to date

      THIS! Gem of a drama, but I especially liked the way she portrayed her character with dimension, as well as the dynamic between the two. GOSH, now I’m inspired to go rewatch!

    I love that drama so much, and wish more people had access to it (it’s one of the few Disney+ dramas that hasn’t made it to Hulu). CJH is excellent in it and his character is one of the most wonderful MLs of all time. The story gets dragged down by excessive angst and one of the most annoying mothers ever, but CJH sells it all the way through. He’s really good in “Unlock My Boss,” too. I think someone posted about CJH seeming a little green in “Castaway Diva” and I truly do not see that at all. Plus, he has amazing forearms 🙂

      With you on everything you said!! One of the most memorable MLs for sure, and the greenest of green flags. Couldn’t recommend it more, I think it had me writing like massive essays on essays in the recap comments when it was airing 😂

      I honestly don’t think it’s his acting that’s lacking in Castaway Diva, in fact I think both PEB and CJH made it work. I just think the writer didn’t really give him much to work with as Bogeol because…. he’s….. overly…. green flag that it……………… falls flat…………………… somehow for me…

    Lol! Both traffic in speed and the end result is predictable, but one gets there in a way that’s a lot more fun.

    I rarely cheer aloud… but given the choice, PMR rather than F1. I still fail to see the flipping point of building fast cars that nobody except a few drivers can use to go very fast in a circle. Wae?!

        She’s sort of similar. She’s a little more of a villain in some webtoon scenes, in others she seems to be more vulnerable (which she would be, given everything she went through with her evil mother). But in the webtoon like in the drama, she still chooses the evil side every single time 🤦🏻‍♀️

I think the thing with PMR\’s makjang that is so addicting is that instead of hitting the character with truck of doom, they hit the audience with truck of facts and backstory we need to keep up with

    I mean (SPOILER ALERT) we knew the real mommy thing was coming but instead of exhausting us with a build-up which literally everyone knows but the characters like how makjang usually is, the character pointed out the obvious and actually asked the right question. I knew chef mommy plot was coming but boooy would I never thought Yijoo straight up asks her. And with the new information that chef mommy KNOWS, that splits-second plays with us as to why she didn’t find her and creates new curiosity then it goes on and on and on. Can’t believe something THAT obvious kept me at the edge of my seat

    YES that’s the perfect description!!! White truck of facts!!! I love the pacing of the reveals – it’s so, so satisfying. Other dramas could learn from PMR!!
