Beanie level: Water maid

Day 9 – The oldie (not 2022) you loved the most.
90% of the dramas I have watched were released between 2009-2021.
Top 3: Queen Seon Deok, Flower Boy Next Door, Live Up to your name.

Day 8 – the dramas beanies convinced me to watch and can’t be grateful enough.

Love Between Fairy and Devil.

I would have never started a C-drama (yet) but comments here intrigued me.

Day 7. The OTP I didn’t think I’d adore.
2022: Seasons of Blossom (Ha Min + So Mang).
Other years: Enrique + Dok-Mi (Flower Boy Next Door) / Ho Him + Yeon Kyung (Live Up to your name).

Newbie question:

What’s the date limit for the Beans Count? Because I’m currently watching Alchemy of Souls and 25-21 🤔 I don’t know if I’ll be on time to add them.

3
3

The bean count is an entirely personal thing, there’s no end date. Cut off whenever you’re ready

    2
    1

Ok, thank you! I could wait until the end of this month (and year).

Yeah.. it’s personal. Feel free to count the beans whenever you feel like doing so. I’ve heard some Beans will do this on the New Year’s Eve.

#2022RoundUp
Day 6: Your favorite OST/BGM.

Released in 2022: This one is easy. Love Between Fairy and Devil hands down.
Released in other years: Queen Seon Deok, Twelve Nights, The best hit.

LBFD and Queen Seon Deok both have great OSTs!

    2

Twelve nights is very good I have quite a few of the instrumentals on my OST compilation.

2022 Roundup day 5 – The drama that will always live in your memory: Weak Hero Class 1.

Fabulous actings (no words enough to describe it), good direction and some unforgettable and moving moments.

7

Honourable mention: C-Drama Love Between Fairy y Devil. No doubt it will always live in my memory for several reasons. And it has been my first C-drama, how to forget it?

Day 4. Greatest disappointment

Does Our Beloved Summer count? I think it started in 2021 but ended in 2022.
Our Beloved Summer and Business Proposal were not bad but I expected more of them.

5
2

Agreed on ABP and with the same reasoning.

    4
    1

I had a good time watching it, but it seemed to me that I had seen everything before in other dramas. It was like a drama made by a computer with a mix of ingredients every rom-com has to have 🤔

2022 Round Up. Sismance/Bromance.

From 2022: Sismance. Seasons of Blossom.
From other years: Sismance: Age of Youth 1&2.
Bromance: At a distance, spring is green / Pinocchio / Memoirs of Alhambra.

3

PS: I have just watched 2 episodes of Weak Hero Class 1, but I think I can see a good bromance from afar.

Good calls on these 😊 Not many people speak about at a distance Spring is green.

It’s a beautiful series full of heart and emotions. It’s on my Top 6.

2022 Round Up. ML you will never forget:
Dramas released in 2022: ex aequo to Yu Ba Bi + Ku Woong (Yumi’s cells 2).
Dramas released before: Enrique (Flower Boy Next Door) + Bidam (Queen Seon Deok).

8
3

I’m thinking Bidam (Kim Nam Gil) is both Second Main Lead and Main Lead… 🤔 Anyway, he is impossible to forget.

    2
    1

Bidam is truly one of the most memorable characters I’ve encountered in K-drama – an example of a supporting character coming in and, for better or worse, completely taking over a show (not that I minded).

      2
      1

I didn’t mind it at all either 😅 He stole the show.

2002 Round Up. FL you will never forget:
2022 Dramas: As I have only watched 6 dramas I will have to pick Yumi (Kim Go Eun) from Yumi’s cells 2.
Other years (61 dramas): Queen Seon Deok (Lee Yo Won).

Just finished Age of Youth 2. I have watched the two seasons in a row. The second one is way better, in my opinion. I have liked it a lot.

Yesterday I finished k-drama 12 Nights. It is far from being perfect, it is very slow and frustrating, but somehow I was hooked to the story.
Beautiful music and songs and great chemistry ML and FL.

TWELVE NIGHTS is lovely drama from the end of 2018 from little Channel A. It is available on Viki US. The SK ratings were terrible but there were a number of beanies who lived watched and enjoyed it. That is where I became a Shin Hyun-soo fan.
On my fanwall I have a non spoiler video clip that shows a bit of the 6’ 2” SHY’s fluid moves.

    3
    1

Both ML actor and FL actress are good in this drama. Great chemistry, even though they share so few moments.
It happens I have been watching them in Age of Youth (1 and 2 seasons) these days too 🙂
      I have met both there.

      2

I watched that show on a Beanie recommendation and absolutely loved it. We get to see the story unfold slowly with the ensemble cast all acting their parts well it was like a play. All the characters showed development over the 8 year timespan. I have a few of the OST songs on my calm drive to work playlist.

    2
    1

I have been listening to the OST for some days. It’s so good. I know it is going to be one of my favorite k-drama OSTs.
Music and songs, main actor and main actress acting and the cinematography are the best in this drama.
Pace is too slow and I couldn’t stand some secondary characters, as the western dancer, but I have liked the series overall.

      1

I have watched six episodes (out of 16) of “Thirty but seventeen” and Second Male Lead Syndrome here is no joke. Ahn Hyo Seop’s character is so sweet!
I can’t even ship ML and FL, at least for now.

Chan is so lovable in this role!💗

I know!! He is my favorite character. Honourable mention to the chick 🐤.

      3

I think I liked A Business Proposal less because that ML character has nothing on uri Chan.🤣

Chick is super sweet, and also, I need Jennifer in my life.

        1

I first saw him in Abyss (lovely character too), and then in Business Proposal (he looks so different!) and then in Splash Splash Love.
And now in “Thirty but seventeen” being the cutest thing.

I have just noticed that the name of my beanie level is Jang Geu-rae.
As it happens, I’m watching Misaeng these days (first time). I have watched six episodes so far. Great script.

It was a bit of a difficult watch for me. I felt so sorry for poor JGR, but it is one of the best dramas in Kdramaland. So glad you’re enjoying it.

Some situations are hard to watch and the ambiance in that office is so oppresive… No wonder they go to the terrace so often.

Ok, now I’m a Mermaid. I don’t know when it changed, but it seems that I finished watching Misaeng (bye, Jang Geu-rae and all the others) and left the Jang Geu-rae beanie level at once.

It’s official. I can’t get over this drama, no matter how many months have passed since I finished it.

I rewatch it every few months. It is one of my most favorite dramas.

And that couple. How deeply they loved each other, even though they never said “I love you”. It was all said in their eyes and gestures.

This show has the best body language of two people in love, I think.

        1
        1

I’m looking forward to finding something like that again in a series, but I have not been lucky so far. That’s why I keep coming back to YouTube videos of “Live Up…” 😅

Girls Generation 1979 (2017). Loved it. It was more like a long, classic movie than a TV drama. Wonderful 70\’s OST. Oh, the main couple! They were so cute together! 8\’5/10

10

It was a great mini drama! I really liked the story and the OST.

    2
    1

There are some great songs in the OST: “My Girl”, “Dust in the wind”, “Feelings”, “The way we were”, “Yesterday once more”, “Eres tú” (a Spanish classic song in a k-drama!)… And all of them fit very well to each sequence when they are used.

Why on Earth did I start watching 2 days 1 Night Season 3?

Now I\’m even more in love with Yoon Shi Yoon/Donggu.

Poor me.

Last week I started watching Our Beloved Summer (next episode: 9) and yesterday I started Into the ring, also known as Memorials (next episode: 8).
Conclusion: I\’m enjoying Into the ring more XD

Into The Ring was such a treat! Glad you’re enjoying it!

I’m enyoing it a lot. Main characters (FL and ML) are so special! And the script is very good.

I found Into the Ring last year and love love loved it!

    1

It was in my Plan to watch list almost since I started watching k-dramas (soon it will be a year) but I was giving priority to others.

I think it’s not very popular so I’ll have to recommend it from now on.

I would recommend you to drop OBS while you can 😂
Into the Ring is really good.

    1
    1

      Should I drop it? XD
It was a bit boring, but I want to finish it. Cinematography and OST are great. I have dropped few k-dramas and I usually say that I have them “on pause” (Hwarang, Beauty Inside, Waikiki, My ID is Gangnam Beauty, I married an anti-fan…).

      0
      1

Well, you find it boring, right? Add poor character development to that (they actually go backwards with it, and the story and everything).

        Let me help you:
        Drop Hwarang with confidence.
ID and Anti fan are kinda cute but nothing much will happen if you don’t finish them.
        Waiki is hilarious.
        I haven’t watched Beauty Inside.

        🤣

        1
        1

Beauty inside is ok, but it does that frustrating thing of not allowing strange to be okay. People always end up “cured” in kdramas, even if the story has been about self-love. Sigh.

I watched the first five episodes and then I stopped. But her disease (or whatever) was more like a curse.

Finishing “Queen Seon Deok”.
Lyrics of Adriana Figueroa’s Wanderer’s lullaby are suited for tragic anti-hero Bidam.
“Though the world may try to define you, it can’t take the light that’s inside you”
