Beanie level: Rooftop room dweller

Funny how I was cool with the teases in Dr. Cha but having a distasteful palate in Nothing Uncovered.
The way they’re romanticizing the affair in here is appalling.
The justification too. She should have just walked away from the marriage instead of all this drama. Now all 3 of them are facing the ripple effects of each’s actions.

As if the emotional affair wasn’t enough, it was taken a step further.

I’m cool with unmasking a deceitful spouse. But what I’m not cool with is becoming guilty of the very things the deceitful spouse is guilty of, whilst the unmasking is going on. The justification that deceitful spouse was already guilty isn’t going to cut it. It is lame. Even if I am to fight dirty with dirty or give a taste of your medicine, I’m not going to descend into the mud with you. What separates me from you when I do that?

I’ll ask the husband in Nothing Uncovered to sign divorce papers as quickly as possible, if ever his wife serves him one. If she doesn’t, he should file for one himself and give to her to sign her part. His marriage with his wife is not worth fighting for. He should walk far away from her. And, he should get better. Find another anchor and heal. And by anchor, I do not mean a person to love. Love is not therapy or medicine that erases a disease.

I take back my initial thoughts about Nothing Uncovered. It truly is a gripping show. But it is certainly a drama that isn’t easy on the palate.

I just finished watching episodes 2-4 on 1.40x speed and I think it worked better for me. I watched the first episode on normal speed so I guess that’s why it dragged out. But with 1.40x speed, everything happens quickly and I’m always on a high.

I think I’ll try it with Hide and see if it’ll get me back into the show.

So, will you be my wife?

This was the scene that had me laughing out loud. Paraphrasing the next line: I wanted my wife to work too but if it’s you, I will see how it is being the sole earner.

Her inadequacy as an intern who should have been sacked several times over but somehow managed to sustain her post, talk about being hidden in plain sight. I bet the manager who was shouting at her didn’t last long after the reveal.

When they said once he knew who she was he resigned and went home, I really felt his embarrassment🫢

At this point, I have to give particular shout out to whoever it is that worked on Jo Jung-seok’s face for Captivating the King.
I for one was sejaked by the facial hair. The carving is sharp&detailed

I like your use of “sejaked”! 👌
Perfectly chosen screencaps as evidence. 👏

My son has been growing a moustache for a year or so. I personally do not like facial hair and I have been doing the mom thing, shame on me I know, complaining to him about it. I noticed that lately I kind of liked it on him (and I told him so)…I don’t know if is because time went by and I got used to it or because I have been, in your own words, sejaked while watching CTK. I’ll send him these pictures, maybe he’ll try the whole thing. 🤣

1.) A PPL I’ll always pull out my card for – thin rimmed glasses. Emphasis on the thin rimmed.

2.) I’d have rioted if he fell on those glasses. Anything else as collateral damage but that.

(1,2,3) Kdrama protagonist characters who allow villains poke into their eyes and nostrils vs Viewers(me included) who have had enough of their “pristine” understanding (4,5)

nothing beats a good grasp of reality, and he is one of the best characters for it.

My latest rewatch endeavor. Episode 1 has been so much fun.

Now that’s how you make your mark in history.

What in the name of creation happened in the first two minutes of Marry My Husband EP 11.

Of course Lee In is effortlessly handsome. But Lee In + Jo Jung-seok…😌😌🤭🤭 is double sugar. That full thick lush hair is a luxury I can’t have.

I just finished watching behind the scenes and interviews from Tell Me That You Love Me and this is my major inference…

Shin Hyun-bin has an infectious laugh. And she goes all out almost every time. It leaves me wondering why her characters do not get to shimmer as she did in these clips. There is a clear dissonance from her in the clips and Jung Mo-eun, down to Jang Gyeo-ul.

I know no Korean and 1⅜ of the two clips I saw had no single subtitle to them so I couldn\’t follow the conversation. But, Jung Woo-sung did have a knack for dishing out N2O effortlessly, and sometimes not laughing at what it was that he said. That is some very handy perk. He\’s a natural.

That is why I likd her the best in Confession. She is so bubbly there.

SHB is the reason of my hesitation to watch TMTYLM. I’ve seen her shining brightly as the snake charmer in the movie Sunset In My Hometown. She’s full of zest and sass in that role but dull in HP and Reborn Rich. I honestly don’t know why.

Honestly, I was accrediting the little glitters and glimpses of color that she brought to TMTYLM to her starring alongside Jung Woo-sung. While the former sentence isn’t entirely wrong, I was surprised to see Shin Hyun-been full of life and laughter and fun. Like there were many moments where her brightness in the BTS and interviews would have been useful in the drama but she toned it down. Or perhaps it is the directors and, the writers and the characters they’ve written for her. In truth, with the backstory of Jang Gyeo-ul, I see why she portrayed her like that. Ditto with Jung Mo-eun.

Nonetheless, I’d have loved some brightness.

I’ve seen the BTS clips too in which she is so lovely and lively. One day, I may pick up TMTYLM especially when JWS rarely does drama – at least to see him as a romantic lead before he’s getting a bit old LOL.

I just finished watching Tell Me That You Love Me episode 13 and I\’m left feeling like I\’m living a heartbreak. And the episode previews for 14 ain\’t even doing anything to calm me down.

I know I signed up for this, I\’d like them to take this pain away.

On other notes, I\’m loving the music score here. This one would have won the OST of the year had I paid attention to the song. Anyways, it\’s definitely earning my beanie OST of 2024.

However, can someone explain to me how this King won best character…

Now the MBC award for this year is how a station award should be. Trust me, the previous awards for MBC 2021&2022 sucked.

Nam Goongmin clinching Daesang topped it all.

All the winners in the acting category are all seconded by me. I don\’t know about the daily dramas so I can\’t say anything about that.

Cha Chung-hwa winning best supporting actress for Kokkdu is perfect. At least Kokkdu got that one right.

Nam Goongmin and Ahn Eun-jin winning best couple🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽=perfeçion.

The SBS Drama Awards for this year sucks. How did they select this winners. And some of the nomination categories are very messy and displaced.

Jin Sun-kyu got an award and Kim Tae-ri got the Daesang. Stop splitting the Daesang wins. Well at least this year both winners merited it.

Wow! This one struck and stuck.

#2023 Round Up Day 20 : Favorite kiss of the year.

So I’m going to cheat and go for the freshest one in my memory…
Cha Jin-woo and Jung Mo-eun : Tell Mr That You Love Me.

Two kisses actually in one week.
The first kiss was as they watched the sunrise and the whole thing was so surreal. And the second was…well…let’s save the story for the recaps. In both cases, there was this buildup to something special but not that I was envisaging a kiss. It was a surprise to me.
And the second kiss was followed by a hug. Perfect tie to the whole kiss and kisses.

Honorable Mentions

Jang Sin-yu and Hong-ju : Destined With You.
Choi Chi-yeol and Nam Haeng-soon : Crash Course in Romance.
Ban Ji-eum and Moon Seo-ha : See You In My 19th Life.

I was expecting a good drama in TMTYLM but this good, with this feelz! Blindsided … can’t express how awesome this year end drama is which indeed trumps all that came before. 🤣

Thanks to Tell Me That You Love Me, Mondays and Tuesdays have become a look forward to for drama nights. And I dare say, even more than weekends. I\’m so glad this wasn\’t on the weekend slot.

#2023 Round Up Day 18 : Favorite Villain.

Lady Park in The Matchmakers should take this title in my books. But then, I didn\’t watch this drama.

I don\’t think the villains in this year ticked my brains. The one that would have landed a favorite suffered from a whack script – Jo Sung-Gyun The Forbidden Marriage. My favorite villains this year are immaterial – fate and miscommunication. This two entities drove a wrench between too many of my leads that it scores top in my sheet as a villain.
