Beanie level: Noble idiot

Thank you Extra-Ordinary You for the joy you’ve brought me in the past 3mos. You weren’t perfect, but you’ve done your job show: to entertain, to make me forget for at least an hour my responsibilities.. etcetera. I’m really thankful!
Take care Danoh and Haru!

(And with this post, I’m also saying goodbye for a while to Dramabeans. It’s time to step out of the “stage” to be a responsible Graduating Student in the “shadow”. See you again, with a Master’s degree in my hand, hopefully!)

EY 15 – SPOILER
This is the scene I was referring to in my last post..

PS: i don’t know how the writer made it possible for me to forgive Kyung after everything he has done… but he/she did it!

EY15 – SPOILER
Too many tears in this ep.. the writer of Secret is doing a great job in wrapping the manhwa. And the writer of EY is doing a great job in preparing my heart to say goodbye to this show..

It’s been a while since I last fell in love with a kdrama.

Joongkicookie of the real word forgives you Extraordinary You for stealing my precious heart and thanks you for giving me so much joy and something to look forward to each week. (For reference: See comments)

I realized I can’t comment pictures so I’ll be posting my reference pictures in another post 🤪

Here’s a sudden realization after doing a re-watch of the earlier eps of Extraordinary You: the fact that the death in the Shadow doesn’t count and only erases the memory of a character, while the death in the Stage is valid even in the Shadow is not a rule introduced by the writer only in the latest episode..
While rewatching the scenes where Kyung pushed Haru in the library and Haru punched Kyung, they both get a scar from it and it remained since it happened in the Stage. But when Danoh caused Dohwa to nosebleed or when she tripped and got a bruise in the Shadow, they both were fine when the Stage started.. now it all makes sense.
so okay, I’m not mad at you anymore writer… maybe just a little. But not that much anymore.

I know they’re all the same Rowoon, but I find the Rowoon of the earlier episodes more handsome 😍😂

Off to rewatch Extraordinary You’s eps 4-7 because of the preview for ep. 15… it breaks my heart, yet at the same time it’ll be fun to watch Haru do what DanOh did at the beginning for him to remember her..

At least we have the behind the scenes…

Just watched Extraordinary You ep 14 and it finally feels like the same show again.. have comments on some parts, but I think that was the only way left to have a chance to wrap up everything in an acceptable manner…
Ps: Baek Kyung is one of the most selfish characters I’ve encountered this year in dramaland….

I think he will be different now that he has shocked himself. I think he truly believed that Haru killed her in Flower. He didn’t remember his own part. Now that he has remembered that, he stopped himself from causing her death in the shadow. He may enjoy her attention for a little bit next week, but then I think he is going to get sick of unaware Dan-oh, and he’s going to help her become herself again. Since he killed her last time, he owes it to her to help her live her own life this time.

Let’s hope so.. tho I won’t expect it too much..

But there’s just 2 episodes left, can they show all of this in the little time left unless that’s all they show!!??

Exactly. I have decided to finally give up on his character development. Can’t. Anymore.

What do you mean by “feels like the same show again”?

    0
    1

If you’ve seen ep. 13, it doesn’t seem like it’s from the same show.. everything was just off.. the editing, the storyline, even the actors.. i don’t know to explain it, I just got this feeling..

      1
      1

Hmmm, both episode 13 and 14 feel off to me. In both, the plot feels like it’s getting even more cluttered than it already is, without any sign of clearing things up.

Minor spoiler ahead:
I was a little bit disappointed in DanOh in this part, because I know that she’s a tough cookie, but why didn’t she stand for her own in that moment and let the guys “play” tug-of-war with her?

It’s not a kdrama with the dumb two way wrist grab 😂😂

    2
    1

But i was expecting her to do something, so i was so disappointed when they cut the episode like that.

Meta of all meta’s: because the writer wrote it as so :/

    1

It’s basically been happening the whole drama, it’s just less well-disguised now. At first I ignored it, because the gender politics was the only issue I had with the drama, and now it’s glaring.

I cried twice in the newest ep of ExtraYou, and both because of DanOh.. Kim Hye Yoon is such a good actress.. no spoilers, just hoping for the best for these two. May their love be enough to overcome the hardships. After all.. it’s a romance drama. Pretty please writer-nim? 🥺🥺🥺

“First of all I’m really grateful to my co-stars for raising the average level of visuals and height.” – Lee Tae Ri at ExtraOrdinary You’s conference.

Cue to the hoobaes/dongsaengs being all shy, especially the taller ones 😂😅

    slightly OT
Lee Tae Ri confused me because I know that face but that is not the name I know~
I missed the news about him changing his name

Extraordinary You Theory:

What if Baek Kyung, instead of possibly ordering Haru to kill DanOh, has ordered for Haru to be killed (in the Shadow), but DanOh ran to save Haru?

Because for now, I can’t think of any reason why Prince Kyung would order Haru to kill DanOh.. but that’s not the case with Haru.
As we’ve seen before, Prince Kyung later discovered that Haru has feelings for DanOh, and since he was not yet aware of himself in Flower, he could have ordered to get Haru killed because of “betrayal”?

8
11

He might ordered it to test his loyalty, or he found out about his feeling and just be a jerk about it. Kinda like the flower delivery scene, but much much crueler.

    6
    1

It would make him so cruel, and the writer would be blamed a lot for it… (i surely will..)

the theory in the comment below is plausible..

      3
      1

The chaka-nim is a cruel piece of shit anyway, so I don’t put it past him or her. But oh man, this show is breaking my heart.

        2

Danoh was definitely a stand-in for someone else who was meant to die that night, she was not meant to die at all…I think.

It would’ve been someone who needed to die for plot purposes, and Haru and Danoh manipulating the stage caused Danoh to get pulled in as a standin instead.

It could be Haru or Danoh’s father, but I’m not too sure at this point

    6
    3

Oh this makes sense.. it might explain why they needed to introduce this “stand-in” concept.. if that’s true, then I have to give a big clap to the writer of the drama, because he/she has written it so well and everything is connected!

I wonder if Dried Squid’s lover also got killed, because of the manipulation of the stage, during the same event…

      3
      1

I think she could have been killed in the Stage.. maybe Dried Squid’s mother ordered it, since she’s just a servant (if I’m not mistaken)

        2
        1

I don’t think the Queen Dowager ordered her death. Dried Squid says he lost everything because of Kyung. I think that could mean Kyung killed her (although he might also be saying Kyung is the indirect cause, since the Queen Mother might’ve killed the girl because she thought the girl would be used against the king by Kyung).

Or the woman whom the king loves.

I’m not sure. Did Haru have feelings for Dan-oh while on stage? Was that part of the plot in Trumpet Creeper? It’s not clear to me.

    1
    1

I think he had it in the Shadow. Because his set up in Trumpet Creeper is to be faithful to Baek Kyung. Although, it could be since he’s the Second Leading Man there (just like DoHwa in Secret)

Haru’s so sweet and all, but I think sometimes he forgets that his girl has a weak heart! 😅

Pps: I’m so ready to discuss Eps 12! More in the comments!!

I’m so tired of Baek Kyung… there are bits that makes me go soft for him. But then, he keeps saying that DanOh is his etc etc…

Also, I’m so sad for these two (Haru&Danoh).. I really hope that what happened in Flower is really done as DanOh said and that they’ll be able to have another ending in Secret, because the whole drama (starting ep. 4) would be so pointless 🙁
Can’t believe there are only 4 episodes left 🙁

I’m rooting for Dan-oh and Haru, but I think BK must be a much more interesting part to play.

I am wondering what his brother meant when he said if BK leaves things he will be happy.

Just what does his brother know/remember.

Extraordinary You is really EXTRAORDINARY. Felt all the emotions these 2 felt throughout the eps, especially in this last part. How both of them knew how much they love each other, yet all odds are against them.

Ps: Haru looks like he wants to cry, but he has to be strong for the both of them 🙁

I find it a bit ironic/sad that’s she’s saying what the author forced her to say in the first story. Now she’s saying the exact same thing but not against her will and to the person she loves.
On another note, does this mean her personality in the first book was real just her love was never for Bae Kyung ?

    4
    2

I also thought about that.. but I think it’s because they’re manhwa characters to begin with, so they don’t really have much “free will”.. can’t really explain it.

      3
      0

I don’t think the first book was the first book. The way Dried Squid Fairy talks about the writer and about stories and characters being reused, and characters becoming aware of themselves after being used again and again, I don’t think the saguek was the first or even second in the series. Sometime soon, we might get a peek at an even earlier story.

“Tune In Love” is worth watching just for the chemistry between Jung Hae In and Kim Go Eun.. about the story, hmmm, you judge for yourself 😋

    No story..
