Unfortunate and unpopular opinion: I ffwd’d thru most of ep.15&16 of CLOY, except for the North Korea scenes (Dan’s mom is AWESOME!!) and the Ducklings.

I wish I could have loved this show as much as everyone else on DB did (I love being in sync with the general population on here), but… I blame my disinterest on the incessant goodbyes/near-deaths and the Emotional Tax the Writers put on each and every one of them. They really took a toll on me, and after the 1st few, I simply lost the connection with an otherwise cute (albeit overly-chaste) couple. * sigh *

I really only finished this show for the year end Beanie count. Ha!

I gave up for just the reasons you stated.

Still stuck on ep 12… I’ve figured that now that I’ve spoiled myself, I might as well wait until it’s available in my Netflix region and at least watch it in HD (I suspect that watching it pixelated on a dodgy site might also explain my loss of interest… one of the things this drama has is its beautiful cinematography)

I must agree, the scenery is stunning, especially in Switzerland

while I absolutely gobbled ep12 with a big spoon, I loved it so much — the episodes that followed were painful and I spent a lot of time playing a game of DOTS on my phone while half-watching. Then I fastforwarded through ep.15 and 16 like a savage.

Totally agree on the Emotional Tax point!

Dan’s mum was the best part of the show.
In the last episode she was THE BEST.
Ducklings were fantastic too, as well as hens.
And as much as I liked the OTP, my heart was with SeungJoo and Dan.
Now, you can imagine how my heart is.
I also FF a lot, specially the last episode (mainly because I was waiting for the Spanish subs, they didn’t arrive, I began to read comments on the Beanie Fan Wall, I didn’t want to be spoiled, so I went with English subs, and by that time it was 10 pm, and on Monday I had to wake up really early).

I feel for your poor heart. Seung Joo and Dan were, indeed, a lot more interesting to watch than our main almost-platonic OTP.

I don’t think it’s an unpopular opinion. I think the first half was solid. Yes, cheesy but solid.

The second half when they moved to Seoul was excruciatingly boring and over the top cheesy. In the end I only cared for Dan, her mom (The actress is truly gifted) and the Ducklings.

The way the Fanwall is gushing about the ending and after reading an article claiming the Show had surpassed Goblin in viewership and/or adoring fans, I truly felt like this was an unpopular opinion. oh well, glad to have companion in the not-impressed seats with me!

Many of us felt the same way.. After enduring (yes, thats the word) the last 2 epsiodes @13infamyss pointed out that CLOY was in last years bean count!!! not this years..

The show started off great – It was wacky, a great set up, had fantastic humor, amazing secondary characters and saw some good emotional connect between the leads. I was rooting for them.
And then it ran out of content. We had extended teary farewells, multiple fake deaths, even the villian didnt die, no progress with OTP relationship etc. And whats worse the episodes were brutally long. Towards the end I didn’t care of the OTP got together or not. I was exhausted.
And then they had to do this to Gu and Dan. bad writers. bad.

I also finished it for the sake of that 1 bean, and because I have no other k-drama I watched at the moment. Also, I do think the super long duration for each eps didn’t help make the story any more interesting.

I think i love this show for the same reasons everyone kinda hate it. Like how i cheer when i saw the duration of the last episode is almost 2 hours 😂. But i can see why it could be off-putting for others. I guess that’s just the beauty of drama watching and thank goodness we have many other options that caters to each and everyone’s taste.

erghhh I can’t believe i avoided the fanwall for 4 days only to find there was nothing to spoil except for the unfortunate demise of Seung Joo. Beautiful as it was, ep 15-16 was really boring (other than ducklings/mum+uncle/ahjummas like everyone agrees). CLOY really could have done it all in 12 episodes. And i’m glad i’m not the only one who feels the same way as the unpopular opinion..sobs..

One more thing, I kept thinking of Vagabond while watching the finale..esp the scenes w NIS..obviously there had to be some suspension of disbelief while watching CLOY but it really was getting too much in 15/16.
