YAY for MINARI – 6 Oscar nominations April 25 2021
Best Picture
Best Director – Lee Isaac Chung
Best Actor – Steven Yeun
Best Supporting Actress – Yuh Jung Youn
Best Original Screenplay – Lee Isaac Chung
Best Original Score – by Emile Mosseri
This song actually evokes a physical reaction in me. I have had the soundtrack on non-stop repeat since I saw the film. The score is infused with such a quiet hope, with sunlight, and a sense of fragility – like a butterfly just out of a cocoon when its wings aren’t quite dry, but it’s ready to fly. Wind Song is also lovely, a bit more playful and wistful. I do hope they win!

I’m so happy for Yeo Jung Yoon that I could just cry. Should she win, I will absolutely jump out of my own skin 😢

I have been listening to it on repeat too :).
It’s a shame that neither song got nominated but I’m grateful they got the original score nod.

Same. I’m also sorry that Han Ye-ri isn’t getting more recognition, not just for the awards but in general.

Yes, I certainly think she deserved an Oscar nomination. For me, the film was mostly about the two women.

Absolutely. She has always been under-rated when it comes to award shows but directors and actors that she works with always acknowledge her talents.
