I watched that 49-ep C-drama with a regular pace (~3 eps per day, it’s a 45mn format)
and loved it to pieces 😌
It’s a slice-of-life/family drama following three families during the school year of the gaokao (college entrance exam).
It also depicts different life events that middle age parents could encounter and how 18-year-old children facing their new adult status.
The execution of the drama was a really nice one:
– slow pace which was like following the families daily life,
– acting : both children and adult actors did a wonderful job,
– dialogues were very good and hit close to home sometimes,
– a diversity of characters , an ensemble drama where we followed many stories throughout the serie.
Fang Yuan (let’s say the lead family’s father) may be the best mediator I’ve seen in dramaland, I loved his character
All those elements made the drama very realistic. There were many laughs and also many tears.
I looked back on that particular time, remembering the good and the bad things, also looked at this time from my parents’ point of view.
If you like slice-of-life/family drama, aren’t allergic to slow pace (or big number of eps), I’d totally recommend that drama
(@wapzy I think you’ll like it 😉 )
Hi Kudo Ran 🙋♀️ thanks for sharing. I’m been on cdramas since last year, and this has been suggested by YT for a number of times already but I was a little hesitant. Your mini review is encouraging even with the 49 ep count.
Hi Wakimary 😀 , it’s been a while, how are you ? Thank you and you too keep safe and be healthy ^^ (and watch dramas that put you in good mood haha)
I fall into the Cdrama hole in late 2018 and it was also when Kdrama slump started , been watching them more and more ^^’
A little reunion might not be the type of drama to binge watch in 2 or 3 days, but you can watch it slowly at regular pace it’s a heartwarming show 🙂 , you could also see it a schedule filler 😉
Thanks for tagging me kudoran. This totally looks like sth I’ll enjoy. I’m guessing you tagged me because the slow pace is reminiscent of Yong Jiu Grocery Store? 49 is a big commitment but C dramas are easier to watch because they are only 40 to 45 mins long.
I forgot to mention it’s part of a franchise, this is the season 2 but the seasons’stories are independent , some actors are the same (for example the lead family’s father and mother are played by the same actors in s1 & s2).
I haven’t watched s1, directly started with s2 (this one) because it had a higher rating on dramalist x).
So don’t be surprised when the father explains his name and new situation in ep1. They also made some references to s1 that I got with just reading the synopsis of s1 before starting the drama ^^’.
In a recent AvenueX’s video about Cdrama news, I got to know the s3 will start shooting this year.
I listened to Yong Jiu Grocery Store’s opening song soon after finishing that drama. You were right 😉 . The 45min format is much easier, I’d rather watch 2ep like that than a 1.5hour tvN ep haha x).
“I totally trust your recommendation” *blushes*

drama title is “A Little Reunion”, sorry for the typos.
It’s available on YouTube (the subs are sometimes not correct , but it’s not a problem at all)
