Both Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and Lovers of the Red Sky had such strong opening episodes, I can’t help but feel optimistic about the current/upcoming crop of dramas. They all seem so promising. Strong introductory episodes that eventually lead to mediocrity is nothing unusual in dramaland, but I really, really hope that’s not the case for these two shows. Same goes for Human Disqualification and Han Ye-ri’s Hometown obviously. I want them all to be excellent throughout their run.

Extra tangent here: the airing shows – Cha-Cha-Cha and Red Sky – are both so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. They couldn’t be more stylistically different, but both are visually stunning in every way possible. Cinematography, colour grading, and production values are on point.

That makes me think I should try Red Sky even though I’m not thrilled about some of the changes they made.

I’m not familiar with the source material, so any changes that were made weren’t noticeable to me. But yeah, I can totally understand if fans of the novel aren’t happy about it.

It’s more that they decided to make it in a fictional place rather than going with the historical setting.

After Joseon Exorcist, I guess TV channels don’t want to take risks…

I was about to say the same thing. Its better that they turned it into a fictional setting because at least you will be able to air the show then.

Am I the only one that felt that Cha Cha Cha was sacrificing story time for beautiful scenery? At least in the first episode.
