    He was my favorite character. Right from the start of the show, I wished nothing but happiness for Songsong! Sending you a virtual hug! I wasn’t able to find another crack drama after watching AMA.

      I can’t choose a favorite character (Gu Yanzhen! Xie Xiang! Ji Jin! Shen Tingbai! How to choose?) but Huang Song’s story was 💔😭

    All the goofiness and winks from Gu Yanzhen , the side eyes looks from JiJin, that “younger twin sister” joke, and Huan Song (why? why?!!!)… Ahhh, we will never forget them! 😍

    Being a native Chinese speaker– where I actually understand Mandarin, among other Chinese dialects– I’d suggest that if you’re just starting out and have no prior learning or knowledge of the Mandarin dialect, I would actually not suggest any Chinese period dramas (where the speech is more so poetic, and less practical) to watch. Rather, I would actually recommend some modern day dramas that include (basic) words and phrases that one WOULD use in his/her everyday life (but are also dramas that have a pretty good story, imo, and won’t bore you 😂):

    – A Love So Beautiful
    – Put Your Head On My Shoulder
    – Skate Into Love
    – The Love Equations
    – Here To Heart
    – Pretty Li Hui Zhen
    – A Little Thing Called First Love

    Most of these dramas–with the exception of 1– are all pretty light-hearted romcoms 🙂 I hope you’ll enjoy watching and have fun learning ~!!!

Y’all I just binged DYLB… oh my freaking gosh. Sometimes a kdrama feels like it was sent from heaven just for you. So happy to experience and express my utter joy for this show with you beanies <3

That build up to the kiss was perfect. First we have Gang-Tae bursting into the house, running up the stairs at lightning speed and crashing into a hug with Mun-Yeong. Then the emotion rises with their conflict on the stairs and she storms off into her room. He comes for her, swinging the door open, flinging his jacket to the side and sitting on the bed next to her. She’s hurt. Not just her hand, but her heart. Raising her voice, she tells him straightforwardly the pain his words have caused her. He puts his hands on her shoulders, and looks at her with eyes that say, “I see your soul, Mun-Yeong. And I choose you.” Breathing heavily, he tells her to count to three.

    What I loved about that scene is its the first time (I think) that shes ever called him out for his cruel words to her. She normally just accepts it as long as it means that hes talking to her or she brushes it off like the things hr says doesnt matter. This time she let him know it hurt her and she wasnt ok with it. Growth!

I’m currently watching IOTNBO and freaking out about it as much as you all are! Some of my all time favorite Kdramas are My Ahjussi, Circle, My Love From the Star, Reply 1988, W – Two Worlds Connected, Signal, Mother, and Healer <3
