I liked everything about it. Maybe the last minutes could have been a bit better but apart from that it was just very interesting and well made. It could have been predictable and made villains out of either of the three families but instead it made me wonder at every turn and to able to be unpredictable and still completely believable was the best thing for me. The cinematography was excellent, the directing and the cast too.
I agree on everything you wrote. On the unpredictable part, I think towards the end we could have anticipated the events because the movie couldn’t have a really good or bad ending. Since there was no downright villain.
Second this. As social commentary, Parasite is first class and left me very disturbed. The acting is also great and the comedic relief is a great release from what was otherwise a very difficult watch for me.
YouTube some of his stuff but 1st watch his speech before Congress. Congress wanted to cut funding to public access for children and his speech essentially saved it.
It’s fine, I watched it two weeks ago haha I expected more since I have read lots of praise for the movie. Timothée Chalamet is a great discovery and I can’t wait to see him in Little Women.
I’ve watched a few of his interviews and like his vibe. I am French so I love to hear him speak French, no sub needed for once lol
internet has already labeled him next leonardo dicaprio 🙂
But, i agree with you.. One rainy day in New York is soporific.. and what he does to that movie at this young age, i am so looking forward to how he would blossom as an actor as he gains experience
The Dude in Me (really liked this one and suggest)
The Witness (a Chinese movie that’s from 2015 which I really liked and suggest)
Juror 8 (Not too bad)
Jade Dynasty (Chinese movie, not very good)
I agree! I was sad at first that Park Sung Woong wasn’t really the main actor in the movie, but I ended up not being bothered because Jinyoung did a great job.
I agree with wanting more PSW in Dude in Me, but I ended up not being bothered because Jin Young did a surprisingly good job in it.
That’s the perfect description of Juror 8 😆
Jade Dynasty is based off a really popular book series which both the drama and movie are based from. But they tried to crush a whole book into an hour and a half movie. So the plot made almost no sense and then the last 15 minutes was this sudden acceleration that gave you whiplash and made you confused. I don’t suggest.
I watched Parasite and it made me feel some type of way. I’m still not sure what emotion it was but I was definitely on the edge of my seat the whole way through.
It provoked mixed feelings (in a good way) to a lot of people. I think the mix of different tons like light humour, drama, family story and social commentary in one movie surprised people.

Since it’s the end of the year, what are movies you have watched and enjoyed this year? They don’t have to be released in 2019 🙂

What did you like about it? I liked the theme and the cast but didn’t expect this movie to win at the Festival de Cannes.

It is a documentary about Fred Rogers and his series Mr Rogers Neighborhood.
Sooooo good. I recommend this one. It is very family friendly so all can watch.

I recommend reading the book. It is so damn good and Timothee nailed all of Elio and after I finished watching it said, ‘This kid is gonna be a star’.

The Dude In Me to this day shocks me at how good Jinyoung was in it. I really thought he would be the weakest link but was surprisingly the strongest.
What the hell 2019. 🙂

I’m putting The Witness on my list 🙂
I wanted more of Park Sung Woong scenes in The Dude in Me. Otherwise it was an enjoyable family movie.
Juror 8 was ok. It’s more a movie with to watch when you don’t know what to watch imo.
Jade Dynasty exists as a drama with different actors, doesn’t it? I’ve read the story doesn’t flow naturally in the movie version.
