Beanie level: Fan club president

Evilive: This isn’t quite what I expected. The tone is more bumbling and humorous than I thought, but not in a way that I find particularly funny. It’s hard to explain.

Kim Young-kwang is charismatic and creepy, but I’m not really feeling this.

I also don’t like that the only somewhat prominent female characters so far are a woman we know is going to die and Shin Ha-kyun’s wife, and I don’t like how they dealt with her sexual harassment issue, either.

There will be some people who will be interested in this sort of character study, a normal man being influenced by someone who is “evil”, but I don’t think I’m one of them.

    Where are you watching?

      The high seas, yarrrr!! 🏴‍☠️

As far as I know, it’s only streaming on K-Plus, which is a Southeast Asia streaming service. So it’s the pirate’s life for me.

I know the DB team is diligently working on it, but the notifications not bringing me to the right part of a thread is really hampering my enjoyment of discussions today, especially on What We’re Watching!

I hope it can be sorted out soon.

I noticed that too, yet, as a trade off DB has been running smooth on a Saturday!

I agree. It has been a bumpy experience since the changes. Wish they could fix the links too and not just the loading issues.

In an NMIXX mood today.

“Roller Coaster” really, really should have been their title track for their last EP, in my opinion. It’s so much better than “Party O’Clock” (even that title makes me gag). I honestly feel bad for these girls because they’re without a doubt the most talented 4th gen girl group but JYP has kind of dropped the ball with them. Competition is extremely tough right now in the k-pop world with so many great girl groups active, but I hope they can see some more success with their next comeback. These girls are just too talented to not succeed.

I DID IT. I FINALLY DID IT.

https://giphy.com/channel/Mindydb

I finally went through all 2,200+ gifs on my giphy to organize them into collections by drama. Well, technically, I had to organize them by first letter and THEN by drama. But I can finally look through all my gifs in a sensible way and see everything I have from a particular drama! Amazing.

Ignore the fact that the folders for N and Y randomly have gifs in them. I accidentally added them there and I can’t seem to figure out how to remove them…

I was going to try and choose my top 5 gifs, but it was impossible lol so I’ll just say that I think my best gif collections are from 1.Into the Ring and 2.Behind Your Touch. Of course, I love all of my Because This is My First Life gifs, too, but lots of them are plagued by ugly watermarks that I for some reason did not remove and I hate myself for it, ugh. I was so lazy when making gifs until recently and you can tell by how awful some of the older ones look. I also have a LOT of gifs from the drama that must not be named, and I can’t believe I made so many gifs for THAT show, god. The worst part is, some of them are kinda cute, which just made me angry all over again. If you know, you know.

Anyway, if any of you feel like perusing some gifs, I hope you enjoy! And remember I’m always open to requests~

Good job of organising! When my store has more than 100 GIFs, maybe I should organise them too.

    2
    1

Andddd I discovered on mobile you can’t open folders unless they have a gif in them (not just subfolders) so I gave each letter of the alphabet a representative gif 😛

Wow! This is awesome. I can see I’m going to spend a lot of time in this particular rabbit hole.

Oh! I see at least two that might qualify as “shall not be named” around these parts, but I bet I can guess which one you’d pick.

You know, I’ve mostly gotten over my hatred for The Beauty Inside. It doesn’t hurt me anymore.

The other one is just so incomprehensible to me I remember I was watching it with Beanies and just started screaming “WHAT???? WHAT????? WHAT IS THIS??????? I’M DONE” into my mic when he started disappearing lmaoooo 😭 It’s honestly hilarious though like who greenlit that show LOL. There were some good parts?? But soooo much bad??? Until I was forced to look at the gifs and tag them I genuinely forgot about 99% of the drama.

Fun fact: I discovered recently a kiss scene from that drama inexplicably has over 100 million views on iQiyi’s youtube channel LMAO.

Me when I realize I don’t have any weekend dramas to watch anymore and will have to actually *gasp* do all the stuff I’ve put off all week.

(It’s my birthday today and I am unreasonably sad that I don’t have anything to watch today. Which probably means I should find more things to do on my birthday…)

@mindy maybe a fun movie would be just the ticket? Perchance I could recommend Mission Possible with Kim Young-kwang being both goofy and intense?? Or, if you’re feeling more adventurous but want a good comedy, Too Cool to Kill? 😁

Oooh, that sounds like the perfect antidote to this weekend’s episodes of Tragedy in Gats.

Happiest of Birthdays Mindy!! I hope you have some fun today – put the chores/to-do list on hold just for 24 hours!! 🎉 🥳

I’m not sure if you’re a YouTube person but sometimes my favourite thing to do when I’m drama-less or drama’d out is just cozy up in bed and watch YouTubers reviewing movies/TV shows etc. with a lot of snacks – that could be something to do if you’re wanting to watch something and relax!!

Listen, I don’t mean to be rude towards anyone who is a genuine Cha Eun-woo fan (we all have our favorites and I don’t judge anyone for who they think is a good actor—I’m sure many, many people disagree with mine!) but it’s so funny to me when a show with someone like Cha Eun-woo comes on. You take a look at the recaps and at least half of the comments are from people without profile pictures and you click on their accounts and either they are brand new with their only comments talking about what an amazing actor Cha Eun-woo is or they are an older account that only comes around for Cha Eun-woo dramas. Talking about what an amazing actor Cha Eun-woo is, of course.

I think these are genuine, real people but they seem so much like bots it’s funny to me. 😭

16
45

Oh yes the sudden influx of greyed out ‘unregistered’ commenters 🤦‍♀️. There are some actors (male and female) whose dramas will always have masses of these comments.

    6
    1

They’ve even gone to the effort of making accounts now! Talk about dedication! They probably thought (rightfully) that most users tend to zone out when reading greyed-out comments, or skip them entirely lol.

      3
      1

Oh no they got me. I definitely skip comments which are very obviously of this variety 😅.

        2
        0

This kind of people can’t understand people can have different opinion and instead to ignore the negative comments about actors they like, they attack in a very immature way…

    8
    1

I want to say they probably are immature and actual kids, but so many times these people turn out to be fully grown adults…

      4
      1

They like so much the actor/actress, they take negative comments personnaly, it hurts them. So they feel like they need to defend their actor or convince people who don’t like him.

I guess they’re too invested in CEW and can’t take a step back because it’s not important if somebody doesn’t like him.

        3
        0

I remember a while back saying something slightly negative about an actor’s (lack of) range (I can’t even remember now who it was, lol) and getting two immediate replies from unregistered users attempting to school me on how amazingly talented and hardworking that same actor was, lol. I definitely thought it was bots at the time because I couldn’t imagine a person would spend their time lurking around all sorts of sites in the off chance someone said something negative about their fave so they could then pounce. But now that I think about it, I guess there are a lot of those people in the world.

    9
    1

Oh, there definitely are! It’s always amazing to me!

      2
      0

i just hinted at it on the recap. 🤭 I think too that they’re real, just super fans or something. It’s cool. Tho some of the comments are barebones and similar. Would some of these folks stay on tho? They might fall in love with DramaBeans. One can hope.

I still consider myself newish and with no profile pic. (I can’t pict just the ONE!) But I promise I’m real. Didn’t I just annoy everyone with my longwinded sermon on your other post? But I put effort into it! 😂

    11
    2

I suppose it’s true they might fall in love with Dramabeans…. but not if they can’t stand someone having a different opinion than them, haha.

Feel free to continue to go profile-less! But I will say having a profile picture adds some personality to one’s comments!

      3
      1

@mindy, your current profile pic is SPECIAL and I mean that in the best possible way! 😆 I didn’t have one for a long time because I was technologically challenged, and I couldn’t come up with anything Kdrama-related that satisfied me.

I wonder what will happen to these sad little superfans when there’s eventually rumors or news that their idol is dating or getting married. That level of obsession is unhealthy (for them and for the objects of their affection).

        1
        1

Oh no, and I just changed it! 😆 Maybe I should go back?

There are some people who pick one profile picture and keep it for eternity and it becomes their defining feature. I am the type of person who changes it on a whim whenever I feel like it. I like to keep people on their toes. 😛

Your is perfect, Elinor! It’s so you!

          2
          2

LOL, don’t change it on my account! I love the new one, too – they are so cute! – but the point is whether YOU like it. (I will absolutely not name nyms but there is one here that gives me a feeling of revulsion every time I see it, but that’s my problem, not theirs.) I change my display handle on a whim so why not?

And thanks! Sadly, in real life I’m no closer to being an iron-willed medieval duchess than I am to being an adorable kdrama character.

            2
            0

The pics on my phone are so teeny that I never thought of it. I will pay closer attn.

But Elinor, I can clearly see yours. And you are forever identified as Kathryn Hepburn in The Lion in Winter for me.

            3
            0

I didn’t know you were even picking a profile pick, @indyfan! I mean, you want we should pick one for you?? I have lots of ideaaaas!!!!

      3
      0

So… here’s my take on it: Do you think this could be for eye candy related? Or do you think Cha Eun-woo is promoting his acting career, one corrupted Beanie at a time?

I mean, if it’s the second option, Eun-woo-sshi, I’m taking either cash or hotteok. Either works, thank you.

    9
    1

LOL. I’ll accept hotteok, too! Especially with the days getting colder! Some nice, warm, fresh hotteok!

      5
      0

I have nothing against Cha Eun-woo. I think he’s pretty, and I’ve even listened to some of his songs out of curiosity, so I get the appeal, but not as an actor (yet).
I got annoyed with some of the comments, and it turned me into a demon for a day.

    9
    2

I think “yet” is a good way to put it. He has charms for sure. And a stiff short smile cut it in this round; whether it was good acting or just his usual mouth lift, that is what is tbd.

      3
      0

Yeah, you had 2 not very nice answers to this comment, but db-staff deleted them after I tagged them. 😅

I did, too. Care to recap, @Kurama? Lol, kidding.

          2
          5

Hum… I don’t really remember. But it was about the fact he won some prizes, was recognized by the public, etc. But I just tagged because there was the word “b!tch”.

Something to the effect – earn your own money and cast whoever you want.
            Totally out of left field.
            Random blah blah.
I was happy @Kurama reported them and wanted to “like” her post!

            3
            0

And that CEW is bankable star (… whatever that means!!) and earns lots of money. 💰
            🤣

            4
            0

Oh my. I was feeling indulgent. But that’s no good. One of the reasons I stay off the other forums is that Beanies are far more considerate and thoughtful even with their criticism. This is not the kind of growth in numbers I was hoping for.

I’m happy you didn’t have to see that Kiara thanks to Kurama.

            1
            0

Ugh didn’t realise the comments get abusive too. Good job on reporting 👏

        1
        0

These commentators are really funny and the way they pop out swords drawn at every real or imagined insult of their favorite is weird beyond belief.
Difficult to say bots or real persons scanning comments on Cha Eun-woo or any other person of their choice.
I actually wonder what would Cha Eun-woo have to say about these internet warriors – as per all accounts he seems to be a polite, well-mannered boy just like Rowoon or any other young idol aspiring to be an actor.
    😂

    8
    1

Idols aspiring to be actors, some make the cut, some don’t. We shall see!

      5
      1

By now he’s made this cut I think. I mean, I’m not sure he will be the first offered a complex, multilayered character that veers too far from his safe zone, but I think it’s safe to say he definitely has a future in the industry. I’ll be curious to see how his career progresses, to be honest. Island was a good departure for him in terms of genre and also letting his seniors take the lead, so we’ll see!

        5
        0

That’s funny. I had to look up who he is 🤷‍♀️

    2
    1

      You’re kidding!

      1
      1

I really did, and then I forgot again and had to re-look him up to answer you! 🤣🤣🤣 I’m really bad at remembering names and have only seen Rookie Historian (of all his work). Soooo, he’s the Dog Guy which is now how I’ll probably remember him 🤦🏼‍♀️

        0
        0

I noticed that too. I commented on one since i found it amusing to be antagonistic when the previous comments were just normal opinions. They could be hired commenters to hype up the idol actor since you said they only come around when there is a new drama.

    4
    1

See, I think Cha Eun-woo is plenty successful enough that no one on his team needs to hire people to write comments for him at this point (especially on Dramabeans.com). I think it’s much more likely that they are fans who get all hyped up when he has a drama and go around defending oppa’s acting skills!

      4
      1

Ikr! So it boggles the mind why there are ppl going around spamming comments to “defend” their actor’s perfect-ness.

        4
        0

Unlike “rest of the internet” DB is a “safe” place where all opinions are respected and every person can happily talk about their favorite actor.
These random aggressive comments stick out like a sore thumb and do no favors either to themselves or their favorite actors.

    8
    1

Right? Like, no one is going to tear into them if they speak positively about Cha Eun-woo, so they shouldn’t tear into someone who is more critical of him.

If comments veer into the personal I think that’s a totally different thing and deserves being called out, but if someone is just speaking about his acting (and in a non-malicious way) then there should be no issue.

      5
      0

I think of them as the flying monkey squadron. They must spend a lot of time relentlessly searching for mentions of their idols and then policing comment threads and “defending” them whenever there’s an even slightly negative comment. Their main theme is “so-and-so is popular so that proves they’re great,” and for some reason the phrase “cry harder” occurs a lot. As for the CEW fan, I’ve seen the same over time and I suspect it’s only a couple of commenters with a bunch of sock puppets.

I remember several months ago one of them flew in and aggressively, emotionally accused a beanie of *bullying* 🙄 for making a mild and completely accurate statement that a certain actor (not CEW) wasn’t great at kiss scenes. It seems like a bizarre and fruitless way to spend one’s life.

    9
    1

I think you’re exactly right, and it’s so funny to see!

Over on Reddit someone had the nerve to ask about CEW’s acting and if his craft had improved after Island, which they enjoyed him in. The comment was PRAISING him, but because they implied he might not be the best actor in the universe, they got downvoted until more sensible people came along and upvoted them. It was so funny, honestly.

      5
      1

I noticed some of this at the beginning of MLL for Min-hyun, but then they all went away…is that the usual pattern?

        1
        1

I believe so. It tends to die down as the show goes on and people simmer down a bit. It’s honestly usually the worst in news posts about the drama before it even airs!

          2
          0

    🕵️‍♀️

Fun Fact – a person with one comment has posted in the thread thanking the “casting team” (???… don’t ask).

That comment has 3 likes in the thread. Going to the account you can see 1 post and 2 likes … ergo, third like is their own !!!

Okay then quoting @darkcc “Eun-woo-sshi, I’m taking either cash or hotteok.”!!

    🤣 🤣 🤣

    6
    1

LOL. If they are indeed sock puppet accounts, I have a feeling they’re going around liking all of the comments with multiple accounts, too.

Head empty no thoughts except for Han Ji-min walking in the background of Lee Min-ki’s last day of shooting interview jumping up and down shouting “LEE MIN-KI JJANG! LEE MIN-KI JJANG! Lee! Min! Ki!”

I can’t stand these two. 😭 And won’t shut up until they reunite like literally everyone on Earth seems to want.

This post I blame on the reunited leads treasure hunt. See, I always have a relevant excuse.

The way they joke about these things kills me.

A Good Day to Be a Dog: Oh god, don’t tell me this is more reincarnation nonsense. I can’t.

Seo-won’s fear of dogs is kinda cute, not gonna lie lol. Bo-gyeom’s love of dogs is even cuter!

Seo-won is a cute character and the way he clearly has a crush on Hae-na is adorable. He’s much better than any other character of Cha Eun-woo’s I’ve seen. I feel really bad for him with how much Hae-na is making him drink, or at least trying to. Not cool, girl. If he actually hated you, I’d understand why after all that.

Gotta say though, despite him clearly having the physique (thanks, random shower scene), I could NOT take him seriously in that fight scene in front of the school. There is something so not intimidating about him lol. I don’t mean that in a bad way, though. Like I said, he’s cute. Giving her cake? That conversation in front of the tree? Super cute!! And his backstory is so sad!

The OTP is moving along more quickly than I anticipated. Hopefully there isn’t too much unnecessary angst later on.

I really like the student, Yul, who isn’t afraid of the bullies. Seeing rotten kids like that get what they deserve is so satisfying. Seeing Hae-na not taking any of the crap was so good, too. And him being in on her secret is the icing on the cake!! The part where she opens the window in the car made me laugh out loud. This poor kid must be going crazy.

And Park Gyu-young’s little “wah! yah!” noises when jumping up for the door handle stooooopppp. 😭

Their uncle being an old dog is honestly so sad!

Also, what’s with the nonsensical English OST lol.

All I can say for that ending scene is YIKES. 😭

That’s my reaction, too to one too many dramas lately. I just don’t get the concept. Dropped See You in My 19th Life and Destined With You for the same reason.

    2
    1

I hated 19th Life and dropped DWY for reasons mostly unrelated to reincarnation, but man, I can NEVER feel like the romance is actually earned if it’s all a bunch of reincarnation or fate BS. That is just not the type of romance I am here for ever.

      2

    Reincarnation. Curse 😭😭😭
    Can we get a break.

Yet to watch the first episode. I will probably wait for a few more episodes to drop.

    2
    3

Curses I can deal with. Reincarnation not so much LOL.

It’s cute so far! I’m having fun. We’ll see of it can keep it up.

Everytime reincarnation plot shows, I can’t help but thinking, how miserable one’s life is to only meet the same people and get more or less the same experience in their lives over and over again.

      3
      1

Could it be a cultural difference? I come from a reincarnation culture so perhaps that’s why I don’t mind it so much. While I’m not a believer, I understand how your present life can be seen as but another chapter of a long-lived soul that carries echoes of its past life. It’s a very different view than cultures rooted in Abrahamic religions. Unfortunately, it’s rather complex and the poor execution in kdramas does it no justice so I can understand some of the frustration.

The religion I was born into believes in reincarnation. A soul is supposed to be reborn multiple times collecting good karma (?). But you can be born as any living being, not just human. Eg we feed crows on the death anniversary of ancestors. In real life, my mom would jokingly say you must have been born a bull in your previous ‘jenmam’. Nor it is believed that you carry memories from previous life. The life process ends when you die but your soul continues in its journey. There are no carry over grudges, love through all lives etc. But for some reason this is not a topic often explored in movies or dramas (I can only think of one or two movies where they were reborn to meet as lovers).
May be we have seen too many kdramas with this theme and it’s kind of frustrating when everyone starts remembering their previous birth 😅
And then they also look the same and are born at the same time as the other people from previous life. It’s hard to take it seriously after a point.

          3
          1

Yes, so it comes down to how it’s used as a plot device, and it’s not very well done in kdramas for sure. I agree.

However, the possibility of remembering past lives exists tho it’s extremely rare. In early Buddhism, it is said, for example, the Buddha remembered all his past lives. And for less enlightened creatures, if we think of the “soul” (or rather no-soul, anatta) as merely an aggregation of khandhas, the theological underpinnings of clinging to past life experiences, esp. traumatic ones, becomes more sound. But as common as every second k-drama having reborn lookalike lovers repeating their exact past storylines in the present? Yeah, LOL, no, it doesn’t work like that.

As far as popular culture goes, I remember reading several pulpy novels as a teen featuring reborn lovers, and seeing them in older films but that has not been common for a while. And long, long ago, there was a house at the far end of our neighborhood where a supposedly reborn girl lived. Looking back on it, she was probably a troubled child but no one had a problem believing she was reborn. It was an article of faith.

However, I do know regional variations exists and there is no one dharma so it’s entirely possible we grew up in/studied different strains, and so have different perspectives.

I should clarify: I of course don’t mind reincarnation as a general concept, but I hate it as a base for romance.

I understand. And if all I ever knew of reincarnation came from kdramas, I might feel the same. But personally, I don’t mind the concept of reincarnated love. In fact, in the right hands it could be a haunting exploration of what we bring into our lives vs. what we make of them (with agency, not will). But it’s k-drama, a pop culture mishmash of whatever easy tropes suit the plot–and it’s still full of holes. Oh well, we still love them. 😀

I find it more interesting when two unrelated people find each other, get to know each other, fall in love and work on their relationship. It’s more romantic to me than ‘fated to be’. Hence most of the romcoms I like end up being the ones without this trope.

This site is getting slower each day. I’ve tried to reply so many times last night to no avail.

Anyways, I am sure our culture difference plays a big part in it. And thank you @indyfan and @mayhemf for understanding and confirming that Kdramas have basically taken the concept out of proportion so far.

          1
          2

And I apologize for getting on the soapbox for this. It’s just near and dear to my heart, and I don’t want the tropes conflated with the faith. Thank you for your patience in hearing me out.

And of course, I finished A Good Day today…and the past life depiction was a low point. Ha! Serves me right. I just ignored it for the present life goodness.

            1
            0

Nah! If anything, your explanation made me understand the concept better. I love it when we’re different from one another, yet we’re still being respectful. 😊 You’re so strong for sticking with it. Hwaiting!

A Good Day to Be a Dog: The first episode is cute. Nothing amazing, but cute. Park Gyu-young really gives off dog vibes with her hairstyle—I find her cuter than the actual dog, lol! Which is cute, but the switching between real dog and CGI dog bothers me a bit.

It’s great to see Lee Hyun-woo again! I forgot how much I like him.

Cha Eun-woo is still Cha Eun-woo. He doesn’t put me off or anything, but he doesn’t excite me. I honestly can’t tell if he’s one of those actors who genuinely struggles with emoting or if he’s just afraid of not looking perfect all the time. Honestly, having him play against Lee Hyun-woo is such a set-up lol.

I have always been confused about CEW. I am neutral about him, he is pleasing to look at and has a sweet smile.
I have liked him in some web dramas like top management, revenge note (where he plays himself) and didn’t find him stiff. He was actually looking comfortable.
I quite liked him in Gangnam ID but his acting was stiff (and character was somewhat aloof so it worked). But I thought he improved in Rookie historian and he had a few scenes where he emotes really well. Just when I thought he was improving, True beauty happened and it was like he took 10 steps back.
So yeah I can’t tell whether it’s a lacking or he is choosing to act this way. May be he might do better with good directors/PD’s.

The Kidnapping Day: Have I mentioned how much I love this show? I LOVE THIS SHOW.

I’m never going to get tired of Myeong-jun and Ro-hee’s banter. It’s so dang funny. And I can’t believe how this show has made me feel for other characters as well. I was about ready to cry for Attorney Choi!

Hye-eun is driving me crazy. “Until when are you going to neglect Hee-ae?” Ma’am!!! Your husband did everything you told him to do and is very likely going to go to JAIL for his daughter and you have the GALL to say that?!? God forbid he actually has a heart and wants to save not only his daughter but also the other CHILD that you and others dragged into this mess!!!

The plot thickens at the end of this episode. Super glad we get the next one tomorrow even if it meant only having one episode last week!!!

I just finished watching the episode and the exclamation points are completely understandable. I also can’t believe Hye-eun actually said that.

I always smile at the “Until when are you going to . . . ” like saying “How long are you going to” but with a bit more punch.

Today I learned while watching Twinkling Watermelon that the thing Lee Min-ki does when he laughs means “I like you” in Korean sign language and I doubt he knows this.

I definitely posted this because of the educational content provided by today’s Twinkling Watermelon and not as an excuse to post him in leather again.

This is relevant to a currently airing drama that I am watching please don’t yell at me.

The way they couldn’t even film the bus station scene without dying of laughter! And all they were doing was looking at each other!

I was watching the huge 20-minute one uploaded the other day with their last interviews or whatever during filming and when Lee Min-ki was doing his interview Han Ji-min crosses into the screen in the background and just starts screaming “LEE MIN-KI JJANG! LEE MIN-KI JJANG!!!” and I couldn’t stop laughing, why are they so cute?!

      2
      0

    Wow!! Perhaps he knows this?

    2
    1

I feel like he probably doesn’t simply because I have seen him do it so often in behind-the-scenes vids, but on the other hand maybe he does it so often that someone has noticed and told him before but it’s a habit and he can’t stop doing it, LOL. And maybe he doesn’t mind telling everyone that he likes them. 😂

Maybe he knows? 🤣 Usually people put the fist or the palm of the hand in front of their mouths. But he puts him in his nose like that, so… maybe your OTP is real? The ship is sailing? Hehehe. Jk

Listen, if it gets me another drama with them, he can keep signing to her that he likes her over and over and over again

Twinkling Watermelon: I hope this love geometry business doesn’t drag on for too long, because Choi Hyun-wook and Shin Eun-soo are already super cute and I demand more of them.

A couple of days ago I suggested in the comments of one of my posts that someone watch the last ~20 minutes of the finale episode of Behind Your Touch. @sonai actually listened to me and was able to confirm that it doesn’t disappoint, so now I’m announcing it to everyone.

A fan of the cast but couldn’t get into the drama? Want to prep yourself for the future sweet Han Ji-min/Lee Min-ki romance drama that we will definitely be getting at some point in the future (come on, we have to manifest it)?

Go open up episode 16 and skip to the 47 minute mark, right when Han Ji-min is running to the bus station through the end (and don’t skip the bloopers at the end!). You can thank me later.

(This is really my last post about it)

Get you a man who looks at you like this when you have fluorescent red lipstick on.

I said the same thing! . A man who looks at you like that when you got neon lipstick is a KEEPER!! look at his face!! Just look at his face 🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍💙💙💙💙

p.s of course I know you are only looking at his face but still.

Right? A real swoon-fest. 👏 I dropped this after episode 1, but was already super wistful because of the cast and potential romance… So glad I got to watch the key scenes, too! 😆

The Kidnapping Day: I didn’t know that only one episode aired last week until I went to watch them! 😭 Ugh, at least that means the show will stay with us a little longer.

That ending was great!! I thought it will be weird ending the week with the odd numbered episode but the cliffhanger worked quite well.

It did!!!! I hope we get to see Park Sung-hoon’s character working with them now. So excited!!

And to top it all off, the very best exchange: Ye-bun basically telling Jang-yeol that she wants him to use her and immediately realizing how that sounds and Jang-yeol’s golden reaction.

That’s it! Thank you for putting up with my spam these past two months, Beanies! You’re all free from it now!

These GIFs were gold. I wasn’t watching the show but actually took your advice (from an earlier gif fest post) just to watch the last episode, starting at minute 47. 😂😂😂 Ooooh and it did not disappoint! Loved that I got to see these sweet scenes nonetheless, all thanks to your posts! 👏👏👏

My favorite thing about the finale, though, was the way he looked at her. I know lighting plays a part, of course, but he does something magic with his eyes, I swear. There is affection, but there is also this sense of wonder, as if she’s the most amazing thing he’s ever seen and I can’t get enough of it. His gaze is blinding. I could watch 16 hours of it. It’s too bad you can’t hear the first gif, because the absolute delight and laughter in his voice when he says, “What are you doing here?” was *chef’s kiss*.

Lee Min-ki dialed the charm to 100 and it’s entirely his fault that I am yearning for a romance drama and he has to take responsibility.

I think he was actually stifling a real laugh during the “What are you doing here” line. It seems quite clear that the actors were having tremendous difficulty keeping it all together on set. And Han Ji-min does look f’ing ridiculous.

    3
    2

I would not be surprised AT ALL.

      https://youtu.be/j1WH8XoDrSI?t=185

Honestly, as much as I want them to do a real romance, I would be worried their ability to finish filming in a timely manner, because they seemed to absolutely lose it every time they so much as looked at each other, LOL.

Look at Lee Min-ki in this shot. He was surely smiling/stifling a laugh. Haha…

      3
      1

LOL. It would be a miracle if they were able to complete filming any of that scene without someone laughing.

We need a season 2!!! No reason not to. Look at them. There is so much potential. Writers, PD’s, networks, and all humans with it a butt, here is a drama that needs a second season.

Lee Min-ki and his melting gaze. Yes, he gives that look even to Dok-hee wtf.

It’s also a miracle anyone gets through filming a scene with him without fainting

Did you see the part of the behind-the-scenes clip where the director shouted “OOOOOOOOH I LOVE YOUR SOFT GAAAAAZE” LMAO.
